This is the Disney animated tale of the romance between a young American Indian woman named Pocahontas (Seong Yujin) and Capt. John Smith (Lee Jeong-gu), who journeyed to the New World with other settlers to begin fresh lives. Her powerful father, Chief Powhatan, disapproves of their relationship and wants her to marry a native warrior. Meanwhile, Smith's fellow Englishmen hope to rob the Native Americans of their gold. Can Pocahontas' love for Smith save the day?

I agree, I used to love the film when I was younger but when I grew up and found out it was based on a real person and how tragic her story was I can't watch it same way. Pocahontas was the nickname given to her by her father (a chief) and she was one of many native american women at the time that was kidnapped by english colonists, her body used and finally murdered at a young age. I still watched the reaction video to see and was a good reaction video and still good story but can't help but think about the real story now, sadly

2023-09-19 05:18:34 +0000 UTCThat’s fair. I respect your opinion for sure. I do like how it ends, but for me the only reason is because them being together just would cause too many problems for everyone. It’s a very intense movie for kids, I was probably scared as a child also.

2023-09-19 00:50:13 +0000 UTCI kinda like that they're split, it's so untypical ending . And movie is serious , like shooting and killing.. That's why it was my favorite when I was a child - it's realistic and intense and I was hiding behind sofa when it was scary 🙃

2023-09-18 22:14:05 +0000 UTCI find this movie to be enjoyable but personally I can NEVER get behind the love story of Pocahontas and John Smith. Like I get the lesson is kinda like love can change a person for the better, but for me it's the fact that he wants to kill her people but when he sees her it's like "she's too pretty, I can't shoot her" like you shouldn't have wanted to in the first place. Loved your reaction though as always! Really hoping you will see The High School Musical franchise along with classics like Sleeping Beauty

2023-09-18 11:35:18 +0000 UTCThis was always one of my favorites! About the end, you saw how John was shot while saving the chief and they couldn't heal his gunshot wound there. So of course he had to go back to where they can. It was sad that he had to leave and couldn't stay with her but he didn't really have a choice.

2023-09-16 13:02:31 +0000 UTCBesides the film not being honest to history (which of course going in you know it isn't) as Pocahontas waa only around 12 when the settlers came. Another big problem is the fact they wanted to have their cake and eat it too with this film by saying both sides were right when that clearly wasn't the case and didn't end up the hit they hoped for. It did however win two Oscars Best Song for Colors of the Wind (beating You Got a Friend In Me from Toy Story) and also winning Best Score.
