Revive, Refresh

Good morning!

My friend and I share how God’s Word is such a “filler” when nothing else seems to “fill.” He has noticed that he will get that itch inside that whatever he’s doing…..even though there isn’t anything wrong with it, e.g. listening to a baseball game, ….just isn’t cutting it for him. He will open the Bible and start reading and sure as the rain that falls on dry, cracked earth, his heart softens, he is refreshed and feels he got exactly what he was looking for.

That is the amazing Holy Spirit at work! There is nothing wrong with listening to a baseball game or many other activities! But, so often we find ourselves never really satisfied if we have filled ourselves with a lot of other things.

This morning as I read in Psalm 69, I was lit up inside and it reminded me of my friend and his stirrings to shift gears and fill himself with what really scratches the itch :)

“My love for you has my heart on fire! My passion consumes me for Your house!.....I know You will bend down to listen to me, for now is the season of favor. Because of Your faithful love for me, Your answer to my prayer will be my sure salvation. Pull me out of this mess! Don’t let me sink!....When Your miracle rescue comes to me, it will lift me to the highest place……All who seek You will see God do this for them, and they’ll overflow with gladness. Let this revive your hearts, all you lovers of God!” (excerpts from Psalm 69 TPT)

Refill! Refresh! He is so good. He will Revive your heart!
