Submit Your Pachter Factor Questions!

It's that time again! We're ready to shoot new episodes of Pachter Factor and need your questions! Everything is now on the table for generation nine! Microsoft just bought Bethesda, pre-orders have happened, and we know the launch lineups.

It's time to put Pach on the record to make some hard predictions that will be referenced years from now.

As always, ask questions that are relevant now, but also some that will be interesting over the long haul.

Thanks again for all your help with the show. Without you it wouldn't happen!

Hey Pach! MS has made one of, if not the biggest gaming market investment with the 7.5B Zenimax acquisition. All that focused on Gamepass. What's their endgame with this? How would the payback from such a huge investment take place? It does not make sense with current subscription numbers. Added to that how'd the whole console exclusivity vs releasing on PS platforms factor into these plans? Thanks for your wisdom, stay safe. Regards

Hey Pach! With the Bethesda announcement, that obviously puts Sony in a very perilous position. Do you think Sony has to make a studio purchase to stay competitive in the future?

Hey there Pach, hope you are well. In recent years, we've seen more and more companies touting cloud gaming as the future, and so Stadia had its push, PS Now has been around some time, Xcloud is making it's push and now Amazon Luna is being introduced. HOWEVER, internet speeds and the cloud gaming services' performance has mostly been underwhelming, and given the internet infrastructure in US, why is cloud gaming being pushed so hard? I'm very skeptical that the performance will be there in the next 1-2 years (compared to local console/PC gaming) so will it gain traction in the next 1-2 years? Are these companies seeing a huge potential in growth in the current-non-hardocore gamer market that in the future could convert to new customers? Thanks.

Hi Pach! Based on the last few years results, and your interaction with management, which video game company has the brightest future?

If you replied to the official tweet we've got you!

Dear Michael Pachter my question has to do with the new expansion memory. Just recently Microsoft announced that there 1tb memory expansion is going to be 200 dollars. If you try any other memory you can only play and save xbox but series x. And Playstation 5 only playing ps5 games. Do you think Xbox and Sony will change that style and price or will they notice no one is buying them change there format to something more reasonable

As was widely predicted by yourself and others, Amazon annouced their own cloud gaming service Luna. How do you feel Luna compares to Stadia and Xbox Cloud Gaming and how do you feel Sony and Nintendo will respond?

Pach, I would love to hear your thoughts on Epic vs Apple (and Google). Do you think Apple or Google will make any meaningful changes to their App Store polices? Likewise, the 70/30 revenue split is well established among many companies now. Do you see that ever changing?

Shayne, my question via Twitter about gamestop as cheap banking.

Pach-man, under Microsofts new business approach, could you see Bethesda limiting the size and scope of the games they produce? Thank you for your time, its always a pleasure enjoying your take on things.

Question for Michael Pachter: There have been recent reports that Sony is planning to bring more first party games to PC in order to expand their revenue, alongside acquiring more studios and focusing more on VR. Considering that we are moving to a future where consoles won't be necessary anymore and they have already brought Horizon Zero Dawn to the Epic Games Store and Steam, would it make sense for Sony to launch their own PC game store and just release their first party games as exclusives on the store alongside third party titles? Would the cost of them launching their own PC game store be too expensive or would it be cheaper for them since they already have the infrastructure of the Playstation Network on console? They have already focused on game streaming with Playstation Now but not on agnostic game downloads like Epic or Valve. Are they missing out on potential profit by offering their first party titles on other stores and paying the 30% cut or is the extra money they could make not worth it? Love the show, thanks.

Pach, it’s the question everybody wants the answer to: Will Xbox go fully exclusive with their Bethesda titles?
