Short sellers might be good for 'the market', but I'll be damned if anyone can explain why 'the market' is good for everyone else. The stock market shouldn't exist, it's a wildly unstable economic system based on biases and guesswork that enriches an already wealthy elite few for no benefit to the rest of society. Usually a lot of people just lose their jobs in the mean time to maximize corporate profits.
