2020 Summer Patreon Campaign Banner Contest!

Hi everyone,

Summer is in full swing and it's time to hit the beach, BBQ, camping, and all sorts of outdoor activity. That said, with the global COVID-19 pandemic going on right now, we all need to be careful and unfortunately keep our distance from our friends and family. That should should not stop us from enjoying the weather!

Thank you again to all of our Patreon supporters for keeping us alive. As mentioned during the 2019/2020 New Year's campaign, this summer we will be refilling the AniDB bank account with a new fundraising Patreon post.

The Contest

For this contest, submit a summer-themed AniDB anime banner! The winning banner will be featured as our 2020 Summer Patreon fundraising post banner. The banner should tie in summer themes with both anime and AniDB.

What does a 'summer theme' entail?
A summer theme should be something uplifting and cheery. The idea behind summer is that it is a time to go out, enjoy the weather, and have fun!

Some illustrative examples include:
1. Picnics
2. Beach
3. Summer matsuri
4. Walk along a boardwalk
5. Eating ice cream
6. Playing summer sports (baseball, football/soccer, beach volleyball, etc)
7. Playing in the forest
8. Hiking
9. Visiting a shrine

The Prize

1. The winner will have their banner and username (unless you choose to remain anonymous) featured  publicly on our upcoming Summer Patreon fundraising post.
2. The winner will also receive a Creative Content badge on their userpage.

The Rules

1. Anyone can participate, both Patrons and regular users.
2. The submission period will be open from 2020-Jul-12 Sunday to 2020-Aug-03 Monday.
3. Each user may submit, at most, 1 picture per day.
4. To enter your submission, simply reply to this AniDB forum thread with your picture.
   1. Upload your image to one of the whitelisted image hosts. imgur.com is preferred. Whitelisted hosts: abload.de, tinypic.com, flickr.com, imgsafe.org, imgur.com, ipfs.pics, photobucket.com, picload.org, postimage.org, puu.sh
   2. Embed your image in your reply using the image tags.
   3. If you wish to make an anonymous submission, send an AniDB forum PM to CDB-Man instead.
5. The voting period will be from 2020-Aug-04 Tuesday to 2020-Aug-17 Monday. You may vote on as many images as you like.
6. If we suspect vote stuffing, then the staff will take this into consideration when looking at the results, and discard entries if needed.
7. In the unlikely event of a tie, a runoff vote will be held from 2020-Aug-18 Tuesday to 2020-Aug-24 Monday for all images coming first place in the original vote. Each user will only get 1 vote in the runoff.
8. In the even-more unlikely event of a tie in the runoff vote, the AniDB staff will decide the winner.

Image Requirements

1. Submit an AniDB anime image that will be used as the banner on our upcoming Patreon fundraising post. The banner should tie in this contest's theme (as described above) with both anime and AniDB.
2. You are allowed to use the AniDB logo in your image, and it is encouraged!
3. Original content is preferred, but not mandatory.
4. Since the images will be posted on our public Patreon page, all images must be family-friendly, for all ages.
   1. 18+ / adult images will not be accepted.
   2. For borderline / ecchi images, the staff (mainly CDB-Man) will have sole discretion to accept or reject the submission. Note: we will lean on the more conservative side.
5. You are allowed to sign your image with your name (and optionally, your AniDB user ID). Please have the signature in the bottom-right corner.
6. All images should be submitted in PNG format to comply with Patreon's requirements.
7. For a Patreon post, a 16:9 ratio image would fit best.
8. Images should be high resolution, 1080 x 1920 at minimum.
9. We reserve the right to disqualify images that don't meet minimum quality standards.
