WWE 2K16 ultrawide solution

Some years ago I saw this post on WSGF about the 2K16 title of the series somehow introducing black bars despite the 2K15 and 2K17 games properly filling the screen.
Unfortunately, I don't think I was into hacking games specifically for ultrawide support just then.

Fast forward to now, I thought I'd download the game for the first time just for this and give it a go.

There were 3 threads on the issue on Steam but none contained a solution. The usual aspect ratio bytes replacement does nothing good, misplacing elements and zooming in.

At first I tried to modify one piece of the code responsible for the aspect ratio but that resulted in the Depth of Field being funny (see in the attached screenshot) - it constrained the audience in the background to 16:9 even though everything else was at 21:9.

After further experimentation, I found more related, and - at first - seemingly unrelated operations, then got to the solution that looks perfect so far.

I'm not expecting more than a few downloads of the patcher, as the game is pretty old and not even available to purchase on Steam, but something is always better than nothing. This release also addresses the issue of 2K16 being the only PC game of the series not supporting ultrawide according to PCGamingWiki, so it's making history, right?
