Disney Dreamlight Valley ultrawide and wider

Before the game even came out, one of the WSGF users looked at the standalone Avatar Tool and found that it did not support ultrawide at all. The person said as much and seemed to not be very hopeful about the possibility of a fix (see the last screenshot).

I was definitely interested in this game, so I let them know! Not long after that, SP4RT4N3R, who also happens to be a long-time supporter and one of the patrons on here, offered the viable workaround of replacing the common aspect ratio bytes in UnityPlayer.dll. That seemed to do it for the time.

After the full game came out, people began to posts about its lack of ultrawide support. That same person who had made the original request was also posting screenshots of the UI being very off, with some of the elements being completely unreachable due to being off the screen.

As I often do in those types of cases, I try to suggest the already available workarounds before doing any serious work, so I tried PhantomGamers' solution for the UI of another game, which did nothing here.

To quote myself from a recent post, "a difference had to be made".

So I dug in and, thankfully, found the game behaviors to not be particularly different from the Unity defaults. The relevant code still had to be located, and the earlier patterns were not useful, which of course was my task for this one.

Then I offered the person to test it, but another person was quicker to react and offer their help.

They tested the solution and showed me the screenshots. It turned out that many of the UI elements were small on their end at 1600p and 1440p, so I had to look at the code again to look for any ways to correct that. I did in the end, and the person tested further, then finally reported having found no issues during the course of multiple quests.

The UI elements were now of the same size as at 16:9 with nothing out of view, which is exactly how we want them, right?

One final thing to add is that I had also tried making the solution into a DLL injection or a patcher, all without success, so a trainer it is!

(the menu screenshots for the top of this post were contributed by nikos who helped test the fix)

Edit: I'm experimenting with switching away from the trainer format but the new formats still need testing. I attached both files (v.1.1). For Steam and Epic, just drop the contents to the game folder. For Microsoft Store or any other platform, unpack all the files to one folder and click RunFix.bat after launching the game, then select any resolution. Do not change the file names!
