pfSense Router Install & Config
Added 2016-11-06 00:14:33 +0000 UTCThis will go live sometime tomorrow. There will be a post on the forum that gives a little more context on why you would want to do this, and with a little more info about the machine we used, a Dell Optiplex 790 SFF.
This is a little sneak peek as a thank-you for our patrons at an unlisted YouTube link.
We're just going to make it public tomorrow when the forum post is ready.
Please note it may still be processing and not available at all resolutions.

I built a PFSense box out of a old Dell 531 desktop. It had a dead hard drive so I put in a 40Gb SSD I had at the house. Put in two Intel Gigabit NIC's. I wish it had more memory, 4Gb, but so fare it seems to be enough. Now I don't worry that my NetGear router/firewall isn't getting new updates.

2016-11-07 06:03:28 +0000 UTCGreat video. I have been toying with the idea of getting a pfSense box for some time. Looking at something like this http://www.mini-itx.com/build/JBC320 as it should be lighter on power. This video informed me of things I didn't know pfSense did. Thanks Wendell and the Level1 Techs team.
