Shouldn't MCU have its own designation? For me the Marvel Comics universe is Earth-616, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe should have its own designation.

2022-05-12 22:25:11 +0000 UTCThe 616 designation is something that always fascinated me, because it does something Marvel and DC have done for years: take Alan Moore’s throw-away ideas and turn them into fundamental aspects of the setting. 616 as the home universe designation started in Captain Britain, written by Moore. He introduced the Captain Britain Corps as a multiversal force dedicated to preserving reality, with each version empowered to support the beliefs of the nation of Britain in their home realities. Marvel UK didn’t really impact mainstream continuity until the late 80s when all those British writers were poached for Big Two work. The funniest part is that he chose 616 as a joke because the old wizard knew it was one of the earliest translations for The Number of The Beast. He was making an edgy joke and now it’s canon!
