An unexpected problem

Hello everyone. I was working on a v0.55 release and all the work done. But there was one unexpected problem. I did not expect anything like this since I was the first to work with the Ren'Py engine.

As you know, there are two versions of the game. (Heavy version and Lite version) With this update, the capacity of the heavy version is over 4GB.

The problem is that the distribution is not created because of the large capacity

So I had to change some PNG files in heavy version to low capacity files and not to exceed 4GB. I solved it right now, but I met a variable called capacity limit.

Let me know if anyone knows how to fix it.

There is no change on the 21st update, so do not worry.

I agree Why not cut the fat from Heavy. You would be able to call it Buffed Up or G cupped.

Yeap

now uploading ver0.55?

I ran photo 12 through IrfanView with out cutting quality and converting to JPG i cut the file size in half. Other game makers us JPG instead of PNG. cutting it to 61% cut Image 12 from 1.29 Mb to 93.7 Kb see my post in community. You should be able to cut your file size back into the Mega Bytes.

I'm not sure if I understand the problem. Is it that Ren'Py can't generate the archive.rpa file? If it's that, you should make the game use several rpa files instead of only one. Anyway, I still think that using PNG files (even if better compressed) is not a good idea. Jpeg offers a lot better compression with minimal loss of detail. If you want to offer patrons a "deluxe" version of the game, there are better options, like rendering in HDR, of offering higher resolutions (like 4K). This would give patrons a real bonus, because the change in compression is mostly unnoticiable.

Hi, Thanks for the game, For the size problem, compress the photo in jpeg with a good quality (100%). Some people had help (look at the post of the July 19). Have a good day.

The easiest solution here would be to just not archive the files in renpy. That way you can have as many files as you want in the game. Another advantage of not archiving is also the ability to release patches that people can just add to their folder, creating much smaller updates for everyone without compromising image quality.

Hi and always thanks to your dev. How about divide 2 files when you zipped? If zipped 2 or 3 diveded files and linked for wach file, it can be solved heavy capacity problems.

If you have FAT32 file system that problem can appear if the any of the file size is more than 4 GB
