Our Life 2: Opal's Car BG (Step 1)
Added 2022-06-17 18:04:57 +0000 UTCHere's the latest OL2 BG that's been created! It's Opal's trusty car. The one that got them to Golden Grove and that will take the MC all around that town.
When creating the design doc for it, I decided to go with a totally different type of perspective than the cars in OL1. Now instead of generally showing the car's interior from the side, it has the viewpoint of a child sitting in the backseat. This does mean we'll have to make new BGs as the MC grows or if they're in a different seat, but I thought it was worth it to keep the first person perspective wholly consistent.
Honestly, how to handle car BGs is a trial in VN development, haha. It's not easy to make it look good or like it fits the overall presentation of the game. Hopefully OL2 will be a step up from our prior games in that regard.

2022-06-20 14:28:08 +0000 UTCI always went to school walking because our house was really close to the school, however this feel so nostalgic somehow XD I really love this new point of view, how it was before was nice but I like a bit more the first person POV, it feels more realistic and it's nice that there will probably be options for the other places as well because I usually always pick up the front seat if the car is ours XD The small improvements that you see between OL1 and OL2 are actually really nice, OL1 of course is great and I love ot but I also love how the game is also helping with this development making this game way more inclusive, it kinda feel wholesome imagine the characters from Our Life "helping" the new generation, at least that's how I imagine it XD In every update it's like I can see adult Cove or the other characters helping the new generation I don't know why, but it's kinda cute. The first game was great and what's even more great is how it's helping to make this game better and to be honest while both are goods Our Life 1 is helping the second to be more inclusive, have more options and a more free to shape how you want personality, I feel like it's kinda mean to say how the second game is a bit more inclusive than the first, they both are but you can clearly see that here the things are improved but that's thanks to the first game as well. So both of them in the end are great.
