One thing many people don't see aboht Jinus past is the time period he lived in. If you were liked by the king and invited to the castle to live there, you were still nothing but a peasant, property who has no rights and even if he wanted to bring his family, which he obviously thought he could, they wouldn't have let him and he also couldn't recline the invitation from the king because it was an order. Him leaving his family was the only thing he could do and if he didn't he and his family would've been killed anyway so by leaving he at least gave them a chance of survival
