Wowwww yeaa wowww they changed it alot man now seeing it like this im actually stunned wtf. I agree with u thay i understand they did that for kids but mannn it would have been sick to see Goku like this rn instead of being humble and yea what u say talk no jutsu

2025-06-11 07:27:43 +0000 UTCSlightly long one, sorry 😳: The scene with Goku powering up in front of Ginyu is a good example of how different the dialog/characterization in the old dub can be, because the Japanese scene was Goku flexing his power, not Goku talk-no-jutsu. The dub changed this dialog to make Goku humble. https://x.com/dotodoya/status/1769237698047299863 Honestly, I get that why the studio thought a humble Goku is a better role model for kids. I have no problem with it, but it’s something I think someone watching for the first time should have in mind. Some people get too attached to this dub-only “champion of good” portrayal and get whiplashed when they find out it’s inauthentic, & that Toriyama himself as well as Goku’s dub VA, and many others, publicly criticized this type of portrayal. Goku’s main motivation is to be the strongest fighter, not justice. The reason he spared Vegeta on Earth was to fight him again, not to forgive him like the dub said.
