CoS Reloaded Update Release Date (& Question for New DMs)

Arc P, Dinner with the Devil, is complete, as are most of my edits for v2.0.7. My current target for release is late next week.

Unrelated - I'm interested in eventually releasing an update focused on the needs of new DMs. What, if anything, could be added to or changed to Reloaded to make it better suit your needs? What have been the biggest roadblocks and challenges you've faced in trying to run it? Let me know in the comments, and don't be afraid to be ambitious!

(My current thoughts are to add more substantive and frequent on-line design notes throughout the guide, especially to later arcs that are currently missing them. I know a player primer has also been requested, which I'm planning on adding in a future update.)

Hey Jack - welcome to DMing + Barovia, and thanks very much for the kind words! The Adventure Summary page in the guide has a (mostly) comprehensive walkthrough of the upcoming arcs, and I've also made my notes and plans available to members of my Patreon (though some arcs are in more scattered form than others). I don't currently have a full rough draft of the rest of the guide yet, though, sorry!

Hey Dragna! Brand new DM here about to run CoS, absolutely love the reloaded guide, makes it soooo much easier for my ADHD brain to understand how the story fits together! My question is, and I’m sure I’m just not seeing it, on the CoS reloaded you currently go up to ARC P, with Q coming out soon. Is there already an older draft version somewhere of the other arcs up till the end?? I hate not knowing what the story is leading up to, and while i wont be prepping it for ages, I like to read the main storyline and quests so I understand the whole story and to know I’m not saying/spoiling anything later!! :)))

Hey Druael, and welcome to DMing and Barovia! Glad you're enjoying Reloaded so far. Regarding the Flesh Mound - that's a relic of an old version; I've now fixed it. Regarding the Lancelot sacrifice - many of the design notes are outdated due to more recent updates/changes, and I plan to revamp them entirely in the New DM Overhaul Update. Best of luck with the bosses and scheduling conflicts (the real bosses of D&D)!

Hey, Dragna! New DM here. Currently running Strahd: Reloaded for a coworker and their family, plus a few of my friends. We're coming to the end of Death House and I'm noticing a few discrepancies and missing details within the story. My biggest issue is that it doesn't mention when the Flesh Mound phase ends (I assume at 0HP), the differences between phase 1's Flesh Mound and phase 2's Walter, the Graveborn, and also the "Balancing the Flesh Mound" box stating to adjust HP to between 41-64HP when the stat block says 93HP for each. Forgive me if I'm missing something silly here! Also, the end of the chapter notes mentions the shadows won't be happy with the sacrifice of the beast Lancelot, but there is no mention of him anywhere else in the chapter (to my recollection). All in all, I'm loving the rewrite so far, and plan to keep this going through the end... if my party can survive bosses and scheduling conflicts!

Thanks for sharing! What information are you unsure about regarding Roll20? And are you making the maps yourself, or using the ones that come with the module?

DragnaCarta

I'm struggling with what information I should put in roll20. And how much detail I should put in maps.
