Hey everyone! Let me present to you the Carrack, the final map for the High Seas theme.
The Lion of the Sea is the personal warship of the King of Rasfadal, though the king rarely boards it. In fact, the ship sees very little use, outside of an occasional demonstration outside of Hofendal.
The ship was constructed on the orders of King Goedling II in response to the growing fleet of Elmara. She is armed with 4 ballistae and 14 heavy weight crossbows and can carry a complement of 60-80 archers. The Lion of the Sea was meant to intimidate the Elmaran king and secure overseas trade routes. During the War of the Vale it became clear that the Lion of the Sea participated in a handful of naval encounters, but proved no threat to the Elmaran fleet.
In 1244 the Lion of the Sea was captured by Elmara in the Hofen Bay. With the only dedicated warship of the Fendalian fleet in enemy hands the coast of Rasfadal was practically unprotected. In 1246, when Rasfadal en Elmara formed an alliance against Auder XI of Burbry the Lion of the Sea was returned to Rasfadal as a sign of good faith. A gesture that the Elmaran king regretted when he sides with the king of Burbry against Rasfadal once again.
