NEW VIDEO: HALF-LIFE 2 (Member Exclusive Preview + Bonus Tease)

It feels like even "it's been a while" would be obscene at this point, so I'm mainly just gonna let the work speak for itself here. I hope you all enjoy.

As I mentioned in the last update, the bigger project will be coming in August -- later in August, I should say, since some sponsorship stuff means the full release of this video will likely be out next week (extended dominion over the plebs for readers here). HALF-LIFE 2 was specifically produced with the mindset of decking the part of my brain insisting my return needed to be some grand monumental work reflecting the length of my absence. Nobody needs that hanging over their head, especially if it stops them doing fun dumb shit like publish rambling nonsense about childhood games for 15 minutes straight.

YouTube Memberships

Definitely should have implemented these sooner - they're functionally the same as Patrons but at a slightly higher minimum price of entry (and I guess the convenience of tipping directly from YouTube?). For this reason, I've decided for now to give any Members the same Early Access benefits as Patrons, but due to YouTube's significant cut (I believe 30%) I will only be giving Credits benefits to Patrons. If any Patrons have questions/issues regarding this, message me.

On that note, I know some Patrons will be curious why there wasn't a Credit section on this shorter video. It had been my intention that in my return video I would personally thank every $5+ Patron still backing me on this website, in tribute to the incredible charitable people that have helped keep me and my partner going across this lost period. I hope people understand how adding a 3-4 minute credit read to what's already basically an extended skit could create problems - so expect to see that next time around instead.

Upfront payments 

This is also something that should have been done before I left - it is my understanding, from many horror stories recounted by other creators, that charging Patrons at the start instead of the end of the month significantly increases scam protection. The downside of this upcoming change is at some point you'll seemingly get charged twice in a month, the upside it'll be longer until your next payment. You can also skip the downside by just temporarily unsubscribing. I'm not your dad

Community

In case you never joined or just left at some point, my community is still based mainly in the AniSoc server via Discord. I understand the concept of 'my community' is pretty nebulous right now so I mostly just want to leave spaces to grow organically (at which point I'm happy to give a plug), but if you're looking for that sort of thing currently AniSoc is the way to go. And I'm always on Twitter.
