Added 2025-01-23 07:49:54 +0000 UTCThe final episode and could hold back the tears , i also realized after that ryan murphy didn't direct the show i guess im just so used to his qualities when it comes to queer media i just assumed it was his work, but no the honour of this show goes to to so many people.

Thank you for finishing your reaction to Fellow Travellers and thank you to Brad for asking you to. Very emotional. I lived through those times and, although I wasn't a part of the gay community, I have friends that sadly died of the disease. It brought back memories.

2025-01-24 06:58:27 +0000 UTCCourtney, thank you so much for respecting my request to finish your reactions to Fellow Travelers. Your mention of me at the start truly lifted my spirits during a difficult health time. And what a beautiful reaction it was. I was especially taken with your picking up on the Roy Cohn quilt, "Bully, Coward, Victim," to discuss Hawk's various personae throughout the story. Quite brilliant! I saw that actual quilt panel when on the Washington Mall in 1993. Roy Cohn was a close to an evil person as there is in American history, memorably depicted in Angels in America. I certainly do not see the Hawk character as evil. But they were both products of their periods, both bullies, cowards and victims in their own ways. As I wrap up the Fellow Travelers journey with you, I'll share that Tim's character arc grew to mean so much to me. In 1986, he was dying, yet he was a fully realized human being who knew who he was and what was worth fighting for, and he put himself first to do so. Hawk, on the other hand, was a shell, an alcoholic with no wife and likely no glorious career-culminating time in Italy. Thank God Kimberly stayed by his side. Tim's journey helped me mourn so very many friends I lost. (Tragically, most of my friends were in their 20s and early 30s.). I shall always be grateful to Jonathan Bailey for bringing him to life and for saying in many interviews that he may never be able to fully grieve Tim. And I am profoundly grateful to Matt Bomer for his amazing acting and executive producing, and for Ron Nyswaner for his amazing story. Thank you again Courtney. You were kind to follow up on my request. I truly appreciate it.
