He might not have had the degrees of the other Ghostbusters, but he had common sense, and when it came to actually facing the apocalypse he was up there facing Gozer with the rest of them.

2021-10-24 20:28:11 +0000 UTCImprove can work great in movies. Hell Jim Carry would improve some stupid little action in like every movie he was in. The show Scrubs had TONS of improved jokes, one even made into a running gag. Problem is you need the person improving to have actual talent for it. It's a hard skill to learn. Case in point, watch the movie "Telephone" with Woobie Goldberg. That was a movie built on improv because it was suppose to star Robin Williams. The big problem here is these ladies clearly lacked that skill. Which of course, makes you feel the improv, if there was any.

2021-10-24 20:20:29 +0000 UTCThe disco-pose soldiers are actually because that whole dance sequence shown in the end credits WAS supposed to be there, in the movie - Chris Hemsworth was controlling them and making them dance. Why he could not do the same to the ghostbusters? Who knows. But I am glad I did not have to watch that scene in the movie...

2021-10-24 20:07:28 +0000 UTCFrom what I can tell, the "anti-Irish security fence" thing is just to show how old the mansion is, due to how old that prejudice is. Best I can figure for their weapons is it scatters the ghost's particles, so it'll take time for them to reform. My biggest issue with the movie is how it feels like way too much improv by actors, which drags out too many of the jokes, making them flop and come off as rambling. Also, with the flashing lights you have for when you bust the movie, you want to put up a seizure warning in the YT version.

Ab-libbing can work really well in movies if the actors doing it are talented enough. You just also need a director who can tell them to knock it off and get back on script.

I am frankly, not really excited by the new movie either that's coming, it looks to be yet another nostalgia-bait. But I mean, surely it cannot be worse than the Femmebusters were? .... I hope! Some days ago while cleaning, the whole "Mike hat" joke suddenly came to my mind, I had to stop and ponder at the stupidity required to make this terrible unfunny thing to make it into the final cut. Ad-libbing should NEVER be allowed in movies, not big budget ones especially.

2021-10-24 18:33:43 +0000 UTCThey really should have just made a live action "Extreme Ghostbusters". I know some people (like me) would have enjoyed that. And you'd have women in it. Also, I think the BIGGEST flaw of this movie, more than anything, is everyone trying to be the comic relief. Look, we all love Ray but someone's gotta be Egon. But if you ask me what part annoys me the most, I really hate the actual weapon elements of these Ghostbusters tools. I mean, aren't they suppose to be more about containing the ghosts not destroying them? And actually I kind of like the whole Ley Lines thing. I mean, in a world where ghosts exists, why not other supernatural elements? I mean one episode of the cartoon had Cthulhu.
