I believe I had heard this song during a concert we watched together but I don't think I knew all of the lyrics because once I read them I began SPIRALLING omg!! To have THIS be the last MV BTS put out before their hiatus would have ANNIHILATED ME LOL. The Easter eggs within the video, the lyrics, paying homage to where they started and reassuring us that they're not leaving us and the best is "yet to come" GOODBYE, it had me gasping for air and the only reason my body refused to cry was because I had a Valentine's Day Date and i REFUSED to ruin my makeup but we came real close LOL.

At the end, on the bus, you can hear the sounds of the ocean despite them being in the desert. "When we're together, even the desert becomes the sea" They have many references to this going all the way back to Whalien all the way up to the lyric in Take Two 😭

2025-02-16 10:36:42 +0000 UTCyes to Take Two, their harmonizations were insane here…one thing about Bangtan….they kept on improving..the rapline worked more on their singing, while the vocal line improved more their pronunciation/diction and harmonies. and this is just in a 2 year span . They always leave me speechless.

2025-02-16 02:03:25 +0000 UTCI know, right? at first I thought they were just reminiscing their discography, more of a montage…..but diving into their lyrics..there is a deeper meaning…and looking at what they have accomplished during the group break, it’s making it coming into fruiton. There are still few more verses that I am still curious “Back to square one after turning a full circle, Back to one” and “ Heading towards that day,truer to ourselves”..these words are still haunting me lol….there are still meaning on these…they are referring to their (planned)comeback. In my opinion, they will all be done with their service, and they gonna be releasing more social/political songs…which they were known when they debuted.

And 4:36 - that's the part in Fake Love where the hand is held up, no? And yeah, a lot of the clothes choices were callbacks to eras or mv's.

I mean, we didn't know about the hiatus yet but many had a feeling that the military service was close and they would have to stop OT7 promotions and everything for a couple of years anyways 😢. This was honestly so emotional, we were all in our feelings bc of that and bc this was an anthology album basically paying homage to their entire career and history. Peachy let me tell you that this MV got a Grammy nomination! 98% of this video has deep Easter eggs like the positions of them sitting in the chairs like Just One Day , the butterfly before Yoongi's part, the outfits representing different BTS eras and even the desert! at the beginning and at the end of the MV you can hear the waves of the Sea instead making reference to their hidden song 'Sea' from the album Love Yourself: her. I think you really need to listen it to get it, but I think they made this analogy as well in other older songs. 💜 Oh and at the end it says "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)". We didn't know back then but it's a spoiler too since Bang PD announced later that BTS was working in a project for 2025 to celebrate the HYYH 10th anniversary 👀💜

Tae's outfit was a reference to their Boy in Luv era and the way they are sitting at the very beginning of the way they are sitting during Just One Day MV. But you did awesome picking out the Easter eggs. When this song came out it was so emotional for me with even going on with BTS at the time. It just felt like an end of an era and a new start. It still chokes me up now. They lyrics are so beautiful too.

How emotional they were in the dinner made my heart ache for them but in a small way I was actually even a little relieved that there was no enlistment announcement during or following it. Of course we later learned that the Busan concert delayed that but exactly same as you.

But unconsciously as I was streaming that MV for it's first few days of release I had a bad feeling about every verse they were singing...especially Jungkook's "promise that we''e keep coming back for more". I told myself at that time-they are trying to tell us something...long and behold -the Festa dinner , 4 days after the MV, everything in the lyrics and the MV made totally sense. The desert represents despair and sadness and the sea represents success and happiness. In the same year, during the Wings Tour final in Seoul, ARMY referenced the lyric from Sea for the slogan banner. “If we are together, even the desert becomes the sea.” In a 2020 tweet, to promote BangBangCon, at the height of the pandemic, BTS / BigHit used the coined phrase, “If we’re together, even the desert becomes the sea.” The same line was used in the lyrics of Take Two, “Even when the desert becomes the sea, we swim together.” Jimin uses the same line in his song, Letter / Dear ARMY. “If we are together, the desert could become the sea.” They’ve used this metaphor for years. BTS used to do summer and winter packages where they just go on trips and do photo shoots in those destination places and release them via photo books and DVDs.

As soon as I watched this MV I realised that it sounded more like a goodbye 💔 it really takes me back to such a sad and confusing time. Looking back on it all, we had nothing to worry about and we’ve had such an amazing time getting to see all the members flourish individually. But this song will always be heavy for me. So I was like “oh wow, beautiful song, cool music video”, being excited about easter eggs and their anniversary, and then got hit by the festa dinner 💔 but this really was the perfect way for them to end “Chapter One”. Some of these since lyrics are from Young Forever by the way! Especially “dream, hope, going forward”. It’s truly a perfect blend of fitting references.

Now that you’ve watched this and boy meets evil, there’s one last official music video you missed for a song called ‘come back home’ which is a cover and re-composed song of Seo Taiji’s song (he’s basically the founder of kpop) the boys are not in the music video, it’s actors, but it’s a powerful song and them covering it basically established that they are now the leaders of Kpop as Seo Taiji passed on the torch to them 💜 Also speaking of the BU, are we getting Celeste’s explanation video anytime soon? Since they’ve confirmed we’ll be getting content relating ‘to the most beautiful moment in life’ era (the BU era) when they come back as it’s the 10 year anniversary, I’d hate for you to be confused and miss out on everything.
