The boys brought some HEAT to this mini album!! Ma City was straight GAS, Silver Spoon went crazy (i cant wait to bump the heck out of this at the gym), Into: Never mind was effing FANTASTIC!!
We also had sexy vibes cough House of Cards?! and I finally found out the lore behind the BTS Whale!!
This mini album was a no-skip banger and I am about to make it my whole personality for way too long HEHE

Autumn Leaves is just THEEE GIRL. My favorite BTS song. I listen to it everyday multiple times lol. The vocalist ate that song dooooown. Iโm a vocal girlie so I always enjoy vocal heavy songs more. Jimin voice in it is just ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฎโ๐จ and Jhope verse one of his best flows Ma city is such a bop. Jk stole that song for me. Especially because, at the time, they were very much lonely in a sea if successful idols and big companies. In a way I think itโs them saying that despite them being isolated now, one day their sound is going to reach everyone who wants to listen.

I'm not sure girl maybe Nevermind since is one of my top comfort songs and the one that helped me go through difficult times. But there's also Whalien 52 with the lore, the feelings and motivates me too too, there is Baepsae that is so iconic, the lyrics and message is so deep!! Ma city is a bop and a half, Butterfly is so damn beautiful, dead leaves/autumn leaves and Run are literal masterpieces, and I love the vibes and everything about my queen House of Cards... I don't think I can choose! I usually listen to the whole album instead of just looking for a song unless I'm in a specific mood. HYYH pt.2 is SO good!!

The "crow tit vs stork legs" metaphor is talking about how boomers had it so easy, it was like they had stork legs. It's a million times harder for crow tits, which are TINY little birds with MUCH shorter legs, to reach the same distance. It's a bop. I want to get a baepsae tattoo.

South Korea was in a dictatorship after the end of the Korean War, and they didnโt succeed in becoming a democracy until 1987 (only 5 years before Jin was born) So Gwangju is often called โthe birthplace of Korean democracyโ - the people were extremely brave in standing up to the government. J-Hope is understandably very proud of his hometown, he often mentions Gwangju in his songs.

Itโs a way of expressing deep fear and anxiety about losing someone they love. Something Iโve often heard is that this is about a friend who is suicidal, and I can relate to that just way too much as the friend who was in that deep hole. ๐

I was into kpop since around 2010, and even though I remember around the time bts appeared on the scene... I didn't vibe with their earliest stuff at all. mostly, I thought their costumes and concepts looked almost like a caricature of hiphop, if that makes sense? so I didn't pay attention to them, though I would sometimes see them show up on music shows (wait okay, that's not entirely true... I remember downloading boy in luv cause I thought it had a great hook. that was the one bts song on my playlist for a long time ๐ ) anyway, I somehow ended up watching the MV for Run, and I felt super gaslit. ๐คฃ Like wait, this is such a bop, there's no way this is the same group? they're all pretty and soft now??? and then they got me hooked ๐ญ and I even went back and realized a lot of their early stuff was good too, I was just too stubborn before. so yeah. Run. that song was my gateway to this lovely bora world... it never fails to make me feel nostalgic, along with the rest of the album.

And 062-518 means two things. 062 is the area code of Gwangju 518 stands for May 18. โOn May 18-23 of 1980, hundreds of innocent citizens [mostly students] in Gwangju shedded their bloods [sic] while fighting for democracy. During this period, Gwangju citizens were demonstrating against the Chun Doo-hwan government.โ It ended really bloody because the government tried to put the uprising down brutally.
