Suffice it to say that “albatross“ is in reference to an “undeserved burden or weight of guilt”as in the Coleridge poem. Kudos though for catching that though man! And here I was talking about how simple this episode was.

2025-04-05 07:50:02 +0000 UTCThe title is a reference to an albatross that brings fog and mist to a ship and also good fortune. All the crew dies except for the ancient Mariner. The aurora, the plague survivor, and probably more are plugged into the story. I had to look it up as the writer knows Coleridge more than I. Things I like: the LP getting a process server; the vibrant colors; the radiation caused plague and that whole plot. Bunny yelling at the aliens "leave my bones alone!" My vote for best character is a tie between McCoy and Spock, sort of like TOS. Special commendation for the cool jazz trumpet in the transition music. A- (minus) for everything with the alien voices sounding too earth like but Spock joking McCoy is more a pharmacist than a medical hero and the Hippocratic oath saying first do no harm makes me think Spock was suggesting McCoy over prescribes.
