The Multiverse of Superwomen (Ch.2)

Mala looked down upon Ursa and Faora then.

She was incredibly strong and her curvy body was wrapped in a black and dark green supersuit; yet one lacking the usual cape and crest. Her long white hair was pulled up into a ponytail, contrasting with the short hair of the brace of fellow superwomen before her.

She wasted no time and let rip with her laser eye vision; first targetting Faora and then switching her gaze towards Ursa. Both were caught off guard and the sudden force of the blast sent them both through the wall of the Fortress of Solitude and out into the freezing cold climate surrounding the building outside; not that either superwomen were bothered by or even noticed the chill.

Mala floated out through one of the holes, with her eyes still hissing and beaming bright red. She had a big smile plastered on her face and raised her clenched fists towards her rivals.

"I hear you want a fight, no?" she asked rhetorically.

Ursa quickly got back up with a foul look upon her visage, and pushed her mighty body away from the icy surface and into the sky at frightening speed, throwing a punch at Mala. She connected perfectly with her jaw, sending this newest threat back through the wall of the fortress.

Ursa floated mid-air in semi-triumph, only to feel a sudden tug from behind. Faora had taken her chance and decided to grab Ursa's cape, and began swinging her around before flinging her through the earth. Indeed, Ursa's body drilled down under the ground against her will for a time until her descent finally slowed and she could push against the rock and fly up again. When she did crawl back out through the initial entry point she was left slightly confused. She looked around for the others but saw nothing. It wasn't until she heard them trading punches above that she caught a glimpse of Faora and Mala again. She dived upwards in order to join them, and eventually there were three superwoman battling for dominance.

At one point, Ursa got the better of both upstarts and held one in each on her hands, staring back and forth at their pained faces, taking wicked delight in getting the upper hand in the fight. She then took turns launching them straight down into the crumbling remains of the battered fortress below. As she floated down to inspect her terrible handiwork, Mala was still only picking herself up, so Ursa stomped her face back into the dirt.

"No, wait!" cried Mala. "Why even fight in the first place? We should be allies and rule the planet together."

Ursa smirked and pushed her red boot down even harder.

"Nice try, but I don't want to rule with anyone else. This is my planet, and my reality. Why would I share it? You're just here for my sport."

Faora then appeared and tried to strike Ursa once more, but this time Ursa was aware of her presence and grabbed her hand mid-punch. Their arms trembled from the pressure being applied on both sides. Their biceps also grew and bugled from the effort. Even the building itself was low key shaking now. After a second or two, Ursa turned to face her, teeth gritted.

"Wait your turn," she quipped, before throwing her fist aside. Faora lost her balance then and fell over. As she tried to crawl away she saw Ursa walking towards her, still respledent in the red and blue suit, muscles pressing against its shiny exterior.

"But she's right," said Faora. "Why fight? We're invincible so can't kill each other. We'll keep punching and kicking each other forever and it still won't make any difference."

"Oh, that's where you're wrong," said Ursa with a smile. "I've tested that hypothesis and I'm afraid I've killed our kind before, and I will kill again. Starting with you..."

As Ursa reached down and grabbed Foara's throat, threatening to break her neck, they could both hear a loud crack coming from behind them. Ursa slowly turned her head and waited for her cape to lower just enough to reveal yet another superwoman in the Fortress of Solitude. She had long, jet black hair, pale skin, and red lips. Her supersuit and cape were dark, and 'LL' was noticeable on the crest. In her beefy arms and lifted right over her head was a large chunk of the fortress which they had clearly ripped clear and were now ready to use as a weapon.

"Who are you?" asked a shocked Ursa.
"I am Lena Luthor, and I demand you tell me what's going on or I'll crush you where you stand!"

"Oh, empty threats will get you nowhere with me! As I just told her, this is my reality," Ursa informed her, before sending out two beams from her eyes and causing the chunk of building in 'Super' Lena's hands to evaporate before she could even fling it towards them. Lena lowered her hands then but flicked her head back, and a look of arrogance mixed with disdain washed over it.

"Your reality?" wonder Lena. "Well, in mine, I rule without question. In fact, where I just came from everyone is under my thumb. I can't bear someone like you offering even a dissenting opinion against me."

"This is utter nonsense. You're not supposed to even be here," Ursa informed her. "Something went wrong. Instead of just one superwomen coming through the portal to challenge me, it seems more and more of you are appearing. Now I'm beginning to worry it won't stop."

"Then close it at least," said a slowly recovering Mala. "Close the portal."

"I don't know how to," replied Ursa. "The machine has self-destructed," she continued, pointing over to its charred remains beyond.

"Perhaps the Fortress itself is drawing them through?" added Faora.

"Well, what powered the machine?" asked Lena.

"Yes, it could be the building itself," replied Ursa. "And now that I think about it, maybe if we all join forces and destroy it, it might put a stop to this increasing madness."

"But how will we three find our way back to our original universes?" asked Mala.

"We'll find another way. They have scientists on this planet, too," Ursa informed them.

With that, the four muscular superwomen put their differences aside for a moment and flew up into the sky until they had taken a position that reflected four sides of the Fortress of Solitide. Ursa was the first to start, squinting down at the building before her heat vision sprung forth and struck its fragile white facade. Then Faora joined in, with Mala following suit. Finally, Lena added her considerable power to the effort, and together they burned Kal-El's erstwhile home down until all that was left was a dark crater in the white, frozen, lonely landscape. Any power it might have still be emitting, any magic it might still have contained, was gone.

"Well," said Ursa, smiling. "We make a pretty good team. It's a real shame I'm still going to have to kill you all."

"I thought you were going to help us get back home?" said Faora, only half-surprised.

"That's fine," said Mala. "I wasn't planning of going home without getting my own back on you. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realize there isn't much back there for me. Maybe I'll just make my home here."

"Over my dead body!" declared Ursa.

"That's the general idea," added Faora coldly.

They both doubled teamed Ursa then, with Lena hesitating for a moment before adding herself into the mix. Despite all of Ursa's strength, even she was finding it difficult to deal with three superwoman targeting her at once. At one point they took a limb each and began to stretch her. After a moment or two trying to resist them, Ursa felt a sudden surge of anger, pulled her limbs against her body and then pushed out again with enough ferocity that it sent her three rivals through the air. As she forced them away she let out an uncharacteristic roar.

"Enough!" she cried. "Now that the portal is closed and it's just you three to deal with, I'm going to quickly end you all, and then forget about this whole stupid episode. In a mere few minutes you'll be wiped out, and I'll be back to running this wretched planet and this reality as before, unopposed."

But, as soon as she said this, she could sense a shadow descending upon her. She looked up, hesitantly, and was taken aback by what she saw. There was yet ANOTHER superwoman who had arrived from yet ANOTHER reality. Dressed in green, this one had long red hair.

"I am Shyla Kor-Onn, of Krypton," she announced to the other four. "Though some may know me as Sylvia Shadow. Who are you all, and what is the meaning of this?"

"Not another one," said Mala.

A sense of dread took hold. Ursa understood then that it hadn't, in fact, worked. More superwoman would just keep pouring into her universe. It might never stop.

"No," said Ursa to herself. "It can't be true. She was the last to slip through before we burned the fortress. That's it! I couldn't make such a mistake. It wasn't folly on my part."

Before she knew it, however, some of her rivals were spooked by the realisation and decided to flee. Mala sped away to the east. Faora to the south. Lena announced she was on her way to Metropolis, leaving Ursa dumbfounded and left to deal with the freshly arrived Sylvia Shadow.

"Why was I brought here?" she asked.

"I wanted a challenge," Ursa replied, staring off into the distance despondently. "Someone I could break, someone I could humiliate, someone whom I could rule, but I got more than I was bargaining for. Not only are there a lot of you, but you're all as treacherous as I am, and-"

Before she could even finish her sentence, Ursa was struck with a mighty blow across her face.

"But no one 'rules' Sylvia Shadow, fool!"
