3rd person limited vs. 3rd person omniscient is also a consideration. I personally like 3PO for scene set-ups with a transition to 3PL for the actual scene content/interactions. And 3PL seems better for showing a character's perspective than first person. Though I do like first person for unhinged characters. Especially if they talk to themselves/hear voices. Osborn as the Green Goblin, Smeagle/Gollum write their perspective in first person well, and write all the other characters perspectives from 3PL and you can really sell the unhinged nature in the contrast of the narrative structure as much as the content of the narrative itself

2024-12-28 18:54:09 +0000 UTCI agree, and I don't think it's a cop out, character experiences are important for every story which are best written as 1st Person POV, while 3rd person POV is easier to write AND read about. What I have a problem with is multiple 1st Person POVs in the same chapter. And 2nd Person POV, though I only ever read 1 story of this type.
