Patreon Plays Delver 1

You've entered the Creation Delve. Where are you placing your attribute points?

Top three choices get allocated proportionally based on results.

Howdy folks,

This year we're adding some extra flair to what's going on here on Patreon. Part of that is letting Patreon name and design some side characters. These characters will DIE in the next book. It will probably be horrible, so don't get attached.

I will be making a post for the Cob tier tomorrow ($10 tier) where anyone in that tier will have the opportunity to claim a spot to create an individual character. Depending on how many people want to be a part of that, the remainder will be created by everyone else.

There will be AT LEAST ONE (1) doomed individual created by popular vote. How's that going to work? Polls. Lots of polls. Starting with this one. We're making a Level 15 so buckle up.

I'll likely adjust how the emails for these work and just drop reminders in the comments to chapter posts or leave an author note, since I doubt everyone will want a bunch of non-chapter related emails.

Strength (STR)

Strength is the amount of force a character can exert. Whether lifting or throwing heavy objects, delivering powerful weapon attacks, or leaping long distances, Strength determines how much kinetic force the character can bring to bear to accomplish their goals.

Some shit that STR affects:

Attack Bonus

Inventory Size

Jump Height and Distance

Lifting Capacity

Thrown Weapon Range Bonus

Ranged Weapon Range Bonus

Agility (AGL or AGI depending on where you look...)

Agility is the amount of control a character has over their movements. From daring acrobatics, to gracefully quiet footsteps, to splitting an arrow with another arrow, Agility is a measure of the precision a character can reliably execute with their physical body.

Some shit that AGI affects:

Attack Bonus

Ranged Weapon Range Bonus

Dodge Pool

Speed (SPD)

Move fast, think fast

Some shit that SPD affects:

Movement Speed

Dodge Pool

Physical Defense

Reactions

Fortitude (FOR)

Come on. You gotta know something about this one.

Some shit that FOR affects:

Health Points (HP)

Stamina Points (SP)

Health and Stamina Regeneration

Dimensional Defense

Intelligence (INT)

Memory, focus, processing speed, being a mother lovin' WIZARD

Some shit that INT affects:

Attack Bonus

INT is one of the most common modifying attributes for non-combat intrinsic skills

Wisdom (WIS)

Wisdom gives you insight into life’s mysteries, helps you decide the best course of action in any situation, and provides both mental resilience and a wellspring of mana.

Some shit that WIS affects:

Darkvision Range

Mana Points (MP)

Mana Regeneration

Social Defense

Spiritual Defense

Charisma (CHA)

CHA helps you gain an intuitive understanding of what other people want and the motivations for their behaviors. It also grants insight into what behaviors will elicit a desired reaction from any given person.

Some shit that CHA affects:

Social attack bonus

Other social stuff--persuasion, coercion, deception, manipulation, and distraction.

Most mind-affecting active skills (such as those inflicting Fear or Mesmerize) and social intrinsic skills (like Diplomacy and Leadership) are governed by CHA.

Luck (LCK)

Luck is a poorly understood attribute, but the prevailing theory is that Luck determines the amount of influence that external cosmic entities such as deities can passively exert on someone. This may allow such entities greater influence in that person's life. However, it can also increase that person's resistance to such influence.

Some shit that LCK affects:

Tiebreakers (I have actually rolled this during some fights in the books)

Blessings (maximum Blessed stacks)

Sacraments (number that can be prepared simultaneously)

--Sacraments change how stacks of Blessed function

Critical Strikes

--There are other ways to gain crit, but LCK has the most.

Divine Defense

This poll will be open for 24-ish hours.

Comments

To me, luck is hilarious for a redshirt stat. Protagonist? Luck= never-ending Nat 20's! Anybody else? Luck goes both ways, sometimes at the worst times!

Marcaeus

Let's go full strength. Dude gets super buffed up and ends up punching a boss so hard they both explode from the impact.

Ruskuval

fortitude, tanks all the way

Throh_goblin Lord

Luck is the only thing you need. …Ooh wait you chose luck, here is a lucky opportunity to actually increase your stats even further :)

Ingmar Falk

This will be interesting, lol.
