Market Overview

In Mallera-9 or the Zone there is the valuable element contained within the Carnivourious Hostile ground dwelling creature the Azologoth. 

Radiation causing mutations in Humans with Y-Chromosomes limits people who can attend the island down to female only. 

The Creatures (Azologoth) need to be subdued by heavy doses of barbiturates, especially their tentacles so that workers can enter them and extract the Neon Dark without being consumed. 

Power Balance

With a lack of government or law in the zone, it has become a true anarcho-capitalist system. Companies vie for economic dominance through militaristic means. The balance of power lay between two primary operations in the Zone - BFC (Black) and CPD (Red).

The Balance of power is sturdy in balance, however the cost for one to destroy the other would be cataclysmic for the aggressor and will result in total destruction of one company with a severe weakening of the other. This would allow for a smaller company to strike the final blow to the weaker of the two larger ones. 

Supply Chains and Neon Dark availability would be destroyed and the highly advanced stages of human existence would falter. 

Between Caterina and the Mistress, this is understood & while their competition is aggressive they do understand that they need each other. 

Freindship

Caterina & The Mistress are on good terms personally. Their business operations were initially extremely aggressive however both soon came to an agreement that what happens on Mallera-9 with relation to their companies stays on Mallera-9. They can be angry at each other, they can go cold, but there is a mutuality of non violence towards each other. 

Competition stays between those who wear Red & those who wear Black. 

Zako Capital Acquisition 

The success or failure of the companies comes down to heels on the ground. The acquisition and utilisation of bodies is key to achieving the goal of Neon Dark Extraction. 

In the distopian future world of this universe, people know what Neon Dark is and what it does. They know of the zone, the chain of islands and the experiment but many do not know of what happens there, who goes there and who doesn't come back.  Mallera-9 is a destination for the desperate, the wicked or the ones wanting to experience it. 

Mallera-9 exists in a place much like where diamonds come from now, or where an essential component comes from in a factory in the industrial wastelands of China. We as the consumer are distant from the misery, much like in the future world. 

However the "misery" of Mallera-9 is only experienced by the willing, knowing they will remove their identity & do the bidding of cold heartless corporations.

Zako Capital Utilisation 

There is no war to be won. It may be a conflict in our terms. But the growth is exponential. 

Fight to hold territory, fight to keep, fight to delay the loss of territory. 

All tasks are performed by Zako. Robotics and drones function poorly in the Radiation rich environment. 

Capital is used to achieve functions of the businesses. Security, extraction, transport, intelligence, tech support, engineering, command, support etc. 

A percentage of loss per unit per day is calculated to predict future replacement requirements. 

When attacks and raids are factored in the percentage loss increases substantially. Requiring more recruitment. 

Attacks and raids are essential to obtain new territory or assets and the keep the competitions standing numbers in check to prevent a shift in power. 

From the perspective of the Mistress or Caterina the Zako are not individuals or a group of individuals, they are their uniform. 

The body of the Zako is fuel, the uniform is the Vehicle. She needs to burn fuel for the vehicle to get somewhere. 

Hence the masking of the combat units on both sides, so they are interchangeable. 

A unit is a form of measurement to them. 12 units, 20 units, 100 units, 1000 units is a measurement. 

The Mistress on multiple occasions will mix the word expend with spend in terms of "spend 50 to 100 units max on that" . Meaning that she sees no further value in anymore than 50 to 100 women dying to achieve something. 

For The Zako

 You are just nothing but a unit of measurement, a gram amongst a kilogram, a pound in a tonne. Flesh at the disposal of those you serve. 

If it is your turn to be smashed by enemy fire, forming piles on the ground, or to be consumed alive by an Azologoth, you did so on your own accord. 

You mayaswell become fanatical like many others.
