Some of Leona's Skills

The poll on Discord had the outcome of some of Leona's skills being revealed as the winner with over half the votes, so today I'm gonna be showcasing 4 of her 8 remaining abilities that I have yet to explain publicly. This post is gonna be pretty dense with info and screenshots from the game, so if you'd rather wait until release to see this stuff, then feel free to skip over this one.

Now, here are the skills in question!

 

So, first up, we have the most basic of these 4, Sapping Ray:

 

Acting as an upgraded version of a certain enemy skill, Sapping Ray allows Leona to buff her allies while simultaneously dealing a bit of damage, letting her potentially chip away at the enemies or get rid of some of their defensive tokens. By Manacharging, Leona can also tack on both healing and Energy restoration to her attack, turning it into a complete package of supportive effects. Restoring Energy to her team is a core part of Leona's toolbox, with Sapping Ray being of 1 of 2 of her skills that allow her to do so!

Next, we have a skill that should look somewhat familiar if you've visited Leona's friendly encounter several times in the past:

 

Emphasizing one of the greatest strengths of Lipomancy, Malleable Exaltation adapts to whoever it's used on. For example, when used on Aria, she'll be granted tokens that specifically benefit her, like Dodge+ and Counter. This skill is one of Leona's strongest, acting as a buff that can fit practically any situation that may come up in combat. By spending a bit of Mana, she can also duplicate the buff onto another ally (or herself), providing a huge amount of value for a single action.

Thirdly, a skill that allows the sorceress to regain some of her most precious resource in combat, at a price:

 

Similarly to Lipomancer's Font, Mana Vortex doesn't cost an action and can't be prevented by enemies, allowing Leona to essentially activate it for free. When used in combat, this skill has little immediate downside, allowing the sorceress to regain a large chunk of her Mana and continue to use her most powerful abilities. However, the Mana Sickness condition caused by it will steadily exact its price on Leona's waistline over time following the skill's use!

Finally, we have one of Leona's strongest offensive options, Caloric Conjuration:

 

As a Feeding attack, Caloric Conjuration gives Leona access to a second damage type, bringing her in line with all other characters. The attack pierces all defensive tokens that currently exist, with only Guard and Taunt being able to stop its damage, providing the sorceress a surprisingly potent burst damage tool for a mostly support-focused character. However, its Manacharged effect, Stuffed Succor, still provides value to the team by allowing Leona to warp a bit of "healthy" food into an ally's stomach as well, dealing a bit of damage to them and removing any harmful tokens.

And that's about it! I know that this was a bit of a longer post, but I wanted to make sure to properly explain each skill and what my intent was for their uses. As always, all of this is subject to change, especially regarding the numbers on the skills. This content has yet to be rigorously playtested and balanced, so it's likely that some of these abilities will be receiving nerfs or buffs before release. However, the respective identities of the skills should stay largely the same in the long term, so I hope that you all still look forward to eventually getting your hands on them!
