Howl's Moving Castle - The Lost Lost in Adaptation

I totally agree. The movie is OK. But as an adaptation it is terrible and my feelings towards it is something like: "if you are going to be this disloyal, just call your movie 'inspired by' instead of buying the adaptation right". Also, they do end up having a happy life and Howl, Sophie, and their kid show up as side characters in books 2 and 3 of the series.

Funny that you mention that Movie!Howl is like if Book!Howl had wrote the screenplay. I saw a post a while back pointing this out, and saying that its kind of funny, because it basically makes the Miyazaki movie Howl propaganda. Like, that's the Howl Book!Howl WANTS you to see.

Yeah, that confused me as well. Mostly because I'm not always good at recognizing sarcasm, so I couldn't tell if that line was meant to be sarcastic or not.
