2021-05-10 21:31:18 +0000 UTCMy grandmother's last husband was at Utah Beach and he was forever thankful to the 101st for their efforts getting rid of those guns behind enemy lines.

2021-05-10 00:20:02 +0000 UTCMay not have been that bad of a leader in a non combat role. He apparently excelled as the supply officer.

2021-05-09 23:59:54 +0000 UTCI never thought of him as a bad soldier, just a bad leader. Some people just can't cut it in leadership roles in combat.

2021-05-09 23:21:34 +0000 UTCAnother history side note. In the part where they come across the dead paratrooper hanging in the tree, you hear something that sounds like a train passing over. That was probably an 8in naval cannon shell off of a cruiser. It was about this time that the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan would have been happening.

2021-05-09 23:00:41 +0000 UTCOutstanding work once again. It was said at the beginning Sobel was sent to train civilians. He was in fact sent to train non combat specialty soldiers such as M.P.s, cooks, surgeons, chaplains, and supply clerks. Keep in mind for every combat soldier there are numerous soldiers behind the lines supporting his mission. After the training was complete, Sobel was transfered back to the 506th regimental HQ and jumped into Normandy. Somehow, the dude ended up with a Bronze Star. So, was he really that bad of a soldier?

2021-05-09 19:09:55 +0000 UTCI know, these ones in particular are tough. I love them though,, they add so much to the whole experience.

2021-05-09 13:15:31 +0000 UTCHey just a heads up, N&S have said in the past that these kind of comments are spoilers for them. I know you weren't meaning to so I just wanted to let you know :)

2021-05-09 13:14:32 +0000 UTCSo my dad's father was on Normandy Beach that morning. With an US army engineer battalion. And I said before and I'll say it again this is by far my favorite series of all time and it always gets to me emotionally.

2021-05-09 11:12:55 +0000 UTCPlus one at the end too. It’s not a huge deal - and I’ll explain later. Still doesn’t take away from my love for this series.

2021-05-09 10:07:52 +0000 UTCDon't know how many times I've watched Band of Brothers but I'll enjoy watching it again with you guys. Just a heads up and this is in no way a spoiler. One of the historical statements at the end of Episode 3 is incorrect. But I'll let you Google that after you've watched it. Hammy

2021-05-09 09:57:19 +0000 UTCIt's historically accurate, and considering it's 20 years old, the film making quality holds up pretty well. But really this show is about the people you meet and their story, it's got it's sad moments but there are some really good ones too, I promise!
