Glad to see you reacting to Black Sails, one of my favorite series. Another great historical series you should check out is Hell on Wheels. Its story follows the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad in the old west. Lots of plot twists, awesome character development, and you'll learn some US history along the way

The confrontation with Miranda is interesting because you see so much agony in his face and hear it in his voice. That argument is something to file away for later. I love Randall and especially Randall & Silver scenes.

It also made me realise the star of this show isn't the action but the storytelling itself which is a trademark of all great shows. Gates talking about Billy was heartbreaking. Vane is definitely a very interesting character and I assumed by this point that he actually was a slave at that place when he was younger. And finally that Flint/Miranda scene gives me chills every time. The pain and anguish when Flint said "to England" conveyed so much meaning for his character. It is also one of many scenes where Toby Stephens is putting on an absolute acting masterclass
