Unused STOMP! from Evangelidium

After I finish an animation I usually do not have much (if any) unused scenes left. Again this is because animating eats time and if I want to do several different things over a course of the year I can't be testing out scenes indefinitely.

Perhaps because Evangelidium was intentionally  to be made in sketch in the first half (past vs fully colored present) it allowed for unused material. Because of that I think someone assumed that the flying guar is white and is a reference to r/teslore mod man:D

First Evangelidium sketches was me rewatching Wind Rises earthquake sequences and imitating. In the end I opted for a bit more og overhead jump of Numidium with palms flying. Actually in TAVERN there was an edit of Numidium RUNNING towards the camera instead of walking but smth didn't work out (I am attaching that gif too as I type!). Because I love the idea of having this slender man giant rushing towards you with hands just waving about because they aren't currently in use.

This episode is maybe my current favorite to re-watch. I don't know how people make moving grain convert nicely to youtube (it smothers any such detail usually) so I used static grain and gave the screen a slight wobble so it feels like an old cartoon with each animation cel placed by imperfect human hands 🧝

This is a good point. I can't expand much on it cause it will spoil stuff. I never looked at it like that but it makes sense with what 'we don't know yet'. Yeah that's a cool catch.

I thought Numidium came across as more intelligent and sinister in Evangelidium. Like it wanted to be rampaging through Alinor and was squishing those elves like a hateful child squishing bugs. I think it was the eyes, and the way it moved, jumping around, using its hands, and whatnot. Akulakhan in Tavern felt more like an unintelligent robot just doing what it’s programmed to do. The way it wiped out Sentinel felt impersonal, like stepping on an anthill you don’t even know is there. Having him be the one who stomps feels right. Not sure which of the two is scarier. That concept terrifying. It’s like a nuclear bomb.
