yeah some episodes are paced in a weird way but overall I really prefer that we follow one threat throughout the season instead of like a new one every couple of episodes

In the story, the final boss was too strong for the plot to progress and it took 20 years in real time before ONE came up with an opponent strong enough to fight him. That is the manga Saitama is reading at the start of the ep.
