Legend of Korra 4x9 EARLY ACCESS

Comments

Zaheer lied about freeing the airbenders if Korra surrendered herself. And he also tricked her into the the fog of the spirit world to get her body.

the fact that they had to cut an episode into a recap due to budget constraints is the biggest shame of this series by far. it would have given them FAR more time to focus on the korra/zaheer spirit adventure, but it still works in the end I guess.

Zane

I still to this day wish that they connected Zaheer to Iroh. But yes super hype for next episode.

If you're wondering how their bending works, and other science facts. Repeat to yourself "It's just a show. I should really just relax." for Avatar Korra Theater 3000!

Sucks that April is last month of this and surprisingly last episode will air on infinity war release lmao. So two great things occurring

She is basically like Wan when it comes to the Avatar state. The power of the Avatar State comes mostly from Ravaa. However, what she lost was the skills and knowledge portion. Remember when Aang used the Avatar state to bend water or earth before he ever learned it(he did this a few times)? I believe that ability is what Korra really lost. She still gets the power, but she and by extension Ravaa, only haver her skill set to draw on. So her autopilot is just her skills and knowledge and no one else's. It does not mean that she is less powerful. I mean really, there are only 2 times that Aang looked significantly more powerful than Korra. The first was at the North pole where he was teaming with the ocean spirit(so not a valid demonstration of just his power) and Sozin's comet, where the only thing he does that unarguably more powerful than Korra is his fire bending. Being powered by the comet, again makes it an outlier. I still like Aang more though.

I love how they show the international politics-aspect of the Avatar World.

The melting point of platinum is actually higher than lava's max temp. Plus there's rate of heat transfer and the specific heat of the material and im sure more shit my chemical engineering homie would say needs to be considered:P

My theory was that whenever a Avatar passed away and the Avatar Spirit reincarnated that previous Avatar’s lifeforce/knowledge was added to Raava. It would strengthen her, which in turns strengthen the Avatar State. It combines what Roku told us on the Avatar State being the culmination of all the previous Avatars with what we saw with Wan when the Avatar State was created when he permanently fused with Raava. When the connection to all the Avatars from Wan to Aang was destroyed by Vaatu that it impacted the Avatar State and set things back to version 1 the one that is just powered by the current Avatar (in this case Korra instead of Wan) and Raava, a weaker version of it without any of the knowledge of the previous Avatars, but still incredibly powerful.

Love love this episode but the next one is one of my favorites can't wait!

Well, the avatar state before lok season 2 was the cumulative knowledge and power of the avatars before. After Vatu "destroyed" rava it is much less powerful.

Fred

It’s Calvin! He distracts everyone else haha.

admittedly, this is one of my bigger issues with Korra. The Avatar state has essentially been reduced to a standard power-up. Much like the Super Saiyan form in DBZ, it used to be this immeasurable power that nobody could stand against, now it's just a cool visual effect.

You guys get distracted so easily 😅
