The wildlings have no notion of sailing. They are not a sea faring people, and would have no knowledge of ship manufacturing. Wildlings have used rafts to boat around the wall before, but that would be a small raft, capable of holding only a few men at a time. No way they could ever get more than a small raiding force past eastwatch by sea

Wildlings do often sail around the wall but the thing is ships aren't easy to make and the Wildlings aren't familiar with the sea. So whenever they do sail around the wall its no more than 3 people in a really crappy canoe. And I imagine most people don't even make it.

- I would assume that once Mance told Jon about the men he sent up the wall, Jon would naturally pass that info to Stannis and get them dealt with.
- I think Jaqen could've been that guy who got rejected insurance, just to make the point for Arya.

I always wondered why the hell they landed on the wrong side of the wall and marched all the way to Castle Black too. It never made sense to me.
