(Just a little scene that I started and then decided I was going to scrap, so I thought you might enjoy it! The novel is getting close to its climax! AHH)

June and Aaron lay flat against the cold metal of Angie’s truck bed, sliding back and forth with each curve of the road and laughing against the wind. It was hard to keep still, but they clung to each other anyways. June hitched a leg up over Aaron’s hip and gripped his shoulders. Kissed him playfully twice until a pothole knocked their teeth together and they grunted in pain.

“I have a confession!” June shouted, rubbing his jaw and chin.

“Uh oh?” Aaron brushed a lock of his raven hair out of his face. “What did you do?”

“I warned Angie you were gonna say no to the bonfire. I didn’t tell why her why, but I think she had an idea.”

Aaron couldn’t care less. He gripped June close and smiled, nuzzled the space between his neck and shoulder. “How dare you.” he teased.

Another turn sent them sliding into the side of the truck together. But that was okay. It felt good and juvenile and silly. Everything that Aaron never knew he was missing.
