Yes to all of this! Totally see how they entertained going that route for the visibility but I am so happy they have tracks that showcase the beauty of the art that they have brought thus far! I can also see why the drop part is your favorite as well! Looking forward to more!

OMG FINALLY RESPONDING haha! Okay, so I AM SO GLAD that you also feel this way! I know this track is beloved by the fans (as it should honestly!) but I also find it interesting to your points that it feels that they could have also been "testing" the waters on some concepts to see how they are received! VERY EXCITED FOR MORE GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! Love that I now include the MV in my reactions for the reason you mentioned and I'm glad I was abls to contribute more than just the choreo analysis! Looking forward as always to hearing from you an your next request!

AGREED! I have a couple of videos on my spreadsheet that I will be looking at that should help the both of us haha

Thank you for posting this! I stumbled across this myself and I think the fact that ARTMS continue to work with him and speak highly on him is very needed context.

I don't know what exactly you've been told about Jaden Jeong, but theres a lot of misinformation that has has been telephoned by fans over the years so I wanted to show you this reddit post that talks through everything so you can get a full picture and come to your own conclusions after that https://www.reddit.com/r/LOONA/comments/nmm7ea/lets_lay_to_rest_this_false_narrative_that_jaden/ Artms also has videos where they interview him if you want to know more (its only two parts)!

I totally agree that this may have been an attempt to pursue that mainstream boy group concept, possibly after some reactions to their debut savanna? I wasn’t around at the time, so I don’t know if they were snubbed for it or if it simply didn’t gain a lot of traction, but they’ve actually had a few releases after sage, the very next one actually being dOra maar! With that being a companion to picassO off of their first album, it really feels like they “went back” to their original concept and saw it through! They just need to be them :)

Hooray!! I am not worried at all about you’re notes on this track! I remember noting that this was a routine I had been “chewing on” so I feel like your perspective really clarified the things that felt more ‘off’ about it, even though there’s some really great ideas in there? Truly dOra maar is it’s own perfect storm in a way, but I feel as though a majority of their tracks aside from this one are more up to that level! I noticed that in that reaction, you noted how the moves themselves weren’t that difficult, but the structure, formations, and intentionality of them is what made them so captivating! I think this is an interesting look into what they could have been if they were more of a “standard” boy group, and I honestly wonder if this might have been testing the waters or pursuing that style as a way to show those types of movements after their debut, which aligns more with dOra maar’s focus on structure! I definitely think there’s some ideas here that will continue to shape their choreography, but I will soon be sending the rest of their choreography to you chronologically from debut, so I’m hoping you’ll see more of what you found so intriguing about them in the first place! The member in the yellow is actually Junji, who I think has a strength of going really full out on stage! He often is given moments to stand out! Rie, the one it the black and white striped sweater, is actually one who does a lot of cleaning with them! Also, thank you for taking the time to mention Jaden Jeong here! It’s important to have that sort of context and I absolutely feel your same apprehension about his involvement, though I don’t know as many details as you do regarding his work with loona. I also wanted to say, much like how you felt about the mv vs choreography, I really enjoyed your commentary on the music video here! There were a lot of really unique visuals that was bold to include and I was really excited to hear your initial thoughts on it! I hope I can convey this in a respectful way, since I find the Mother Mary depiction striking! I believe the framing elements are connected with OOO’s visual theme of technology which was very present early on. I interpret it as a vision of purity/faith being corrupted or encroached upon by the technology, where instead of seeing Mary’s face you see these mask-like mannequin faces in the foreground! I wonder if you could interpret this as faith being corrupted by modern influences, or you could look at it like knowledge pushing innocence away (maybe like eve and the Apple?) it’s definitely got a lot to analyze! Thank you again for always being honest and constructive in your analyses! I can’t wait to show you the next one 💕

I get what you mean, Sage seems to me now like what you’re saying, more mainstream in the choreography than what they did in Dora Maar and more mainstream than what they have done since then. Especially since I think (correct me if I’m wrong) the comeback after this one is Libido, which is better in my opinion in showing “story” if that makes sense?? Sage also may have been their attempt then to be Seen in the K-pop mainstream cause that was like the last time I’ve seen them in like mnet content, cause once they released libido and then leaned in even harder into the “sensual” with skinz after that- no more like mainstream K-pop content, some here and there tho. The drop is my fave move in this choreo- just a fun visual change. I believe Yoojung, Rie, and Junji (the main dancers) had hands in choreographing this song.
