2025-03-12 01:31:26 +0000 UTCi'm late to this reaction series but i'm intrigued ! as someone who's french i find it so fascinating how foreigners manage to memorize all the french ballet terminology... like i personally know nothing about ballet but since most of the moves have french names i can still imagine what they look like, i get the imagery (like yes ciseaux does look like scissors..) and most of it is pretty self-explanatory but french is such a hard language to spell and pronounce for people who don't speak it, i'm kind of impressed by people just knowing what all this "nonsense" represents.. (also it feels SO WEIRD hearing you pronounce french words, like not in a bad way but i'm just not used to hear my native language come out of your mouth it's pretty funny)

It's Funny how Gyeong Ho was told in this episode he has no artistic expression and when I watch him in the clips of the tour they did he grew so much! specially his Salvation Journal makes me want to cry out of fear and despair.

2024-09-30 20:45:10 +0000 UTCThey really put the ballet dancers through it; an adjudicated barre to petite/grand allegro to variation to pirouettes. Yikes! I bet that was a super long barre too. I was so happy with the ballet judging. Very credentialed and professional; they gave fair critiques. I looked up the ABT judge because I was confusing him with another Korean dancer who is a principal with ABT. He is a soloist which is impressive because ABT is one of the bigger companies. He was a prize winner at YAGP and Prix de Lausanne. I'm glad they were able to get him since he must have been in between seasons. I was totally lost in the Korean dance but it is very fascinating. Definitely will be very educational for me!

2024-09-26 23:57:11 +0000 UTCI'm writing as I watch. I actually like that a lot of the ballet dancers seemed to have started later in life than a typical ballet dancer. The range of experience and age is nice to see. Also, I have no proof, but by some of the guys commenting how hot it was (it seemed room wise), I feel like Mnet definitely didn't turn on any air conditioning. I hate how they were saying our one dancer (Gutae) was having a mental breakdown when he wasn't. He was reasonably upset at his own work (and body) that got him the score. He wasn't causing a scene or claiming he can't accept the results. He was just sad. It's a bit disrespectful to claim it's a mental breakdown (and if it was, to then treat it like that). I do like the way Matthew speaks to the dancers though. It's probably the rehearsal director in him but I like it. Them laughing at the 32 grand pirouettes (I've only ever heard them referred to as a la secondes) and saying isn't it too much as if they didn't make it was hysterical. I do like how supportive they all are towards each other. I know the drama is what Mnet craves but I think people really like seeing them just get along and the drama comes from them personally wanting to be better instead of arguing. Also, I love so many of the dancers, especially Hamburg ballet man, being careful not to injure themselves. Like this show isn't worth your actual job so major respect to them. Lol, the difference between the ballet locker room vs Korean dance locker room with all the tension. P.S. If I deleted my comment a lot, don't mind me, lol. I'm so bad at hitting the right buttons for paragraph breaks.
