The master doesn't die if the servant is killed, but the servant will lose his mana supply (and possibly die) if his master is killed. Masters are the critical link and are very easy to kill compared to servants, so they are the target usually (Assassin's speciality). Masters are the weakness of the team, meant to be protected.

2023-10-12 09:33:19 +0000 UTCYeah servants that die here (apart from Arthoria, long story) don't really die, they are already dead to begin with and are just summoned. They are just incarnations the grail created (based on 7 classes, the same servant can possibly be summoned in more than one class, the choosen class changes their characteristics a bit, the most extreme example is the versatile Hercules which can be summoned as either a Saber, Lancer, Berserker, Rider... but which specialty remains Archer). Also, a servant that dies will lose his memory from what happened after he was summoned, so you could say their incarnation still "dies".
