six years ago my partner and i were affected by a personal tragedy which resulted in us having to change our lifestyles significantly, so that we would be subjected to less intolerance. i changed who i was completely because i was scared that we wouldn't be able to survive otherwise. i honestly look at it like i brainwashed myself into conformity, out of fear. during that time i gave up almost everything i had and everything i was. i stopped talking to all my friends, gave away (or even destroyed) all the art i had, stopped listening to music, stopped watching tv, and stopped reading a lot of things. including Crow Cillers, despite how much i loved it and how completely unique it is and how personally relevant it felt to me. i pretty much stopped being myself at all. a few months ago, i reached the conclusion that life wasn't worth living unless i was living it on my own terms. so i chose to start living as who and what i wanted to be again. after i made that choice, some friends i hadn't talked to for that whole six year period got back in contact with me. we've been trying to make up for lost time since then. one thing they strongly recommended i do was to finish reading Crow Cillers. so for the past month i've been re-reading all of it, from the beginning (after six years, i had almost completely forgotten about it). i finished episode 99 just a couple of days ago. there is so much stuff that you've written about that i have never seen discussed in such a direct and heartfelt and relatable and open and intelligent way. what you have created is astonishing, Crow Cillers is one of my favourite works of art, and i can't wait for the final episode! thank you Cate!
