Patreon requiring ID

Patreon is adopting a new rule where creators need to send their drivers license/government ID to a third party company. I've attempted to do this a few times and each time it doesn't recognize my face in the photo. Since this isn't a universal requirement and I can imagine most other erotic art creators don't want to send pe...

$20 tier change

First, some math. The current Saturday Sketch queue is approaching two months. The $20 tier is used by some people to pay for sketch stream slots, saving $15 per month to get a $25 dollar slot. This means if they wait a full two months, there will be no way to spend it on sketches.

Since commissions are closed, this me...

Final image of the simulated setting. It should hopefully clarify what was going on, why things were happening, etc.

I keep introducing more characters, but I feel like I'm not introducing them properly before moving on to the next one. It's a process that I don't know for sure I'll ever completely grasp, but I can still do research and learn better pacing in time.

this time I'm trying out having another character do the explaining. ...

Sorry about the delay, I kept having second thoughts about the dialogue, the background quality, but time's up and this month's pages are falling behind, so this just has to be done for now.

That first panel was pretty awkward to write, I wanted a joke that would lead into the second panel, then a misunderstanding in the third panel, etc. In the end it does the job.

The goal with the last few Chit and Richard pages has been to show his origin story a little, give the reader enough information about his peo...

A standard tool in storytelling is to provide the viewer with a chunk of information or an important truth, but in exchange something must happen that sets the characters back. Maybe they find an artifact in a temple and taking it activates a trap. Maybe they discover the identity of a betrayer but now they're hunted by law e...

Had this idea for a little while, decided to work on it in my spare time, ended up using it as an excuse to work on a new character design.

Aqua's kinda a killjoy, any scenes with him present end up focused more on exposition.

Going to lean more heavily into explaining things, interrogations are about the only time a character can state the obvious and look like an ass instead of coming across as a bit weird.

A continuation of the simulated setting, it took a long time to think of a way to end it clearly, the current idea is "take me to your leader", where there's a kind of revelation the characters can have on the last page that should wrap things up nicely.

Sorry about the delay.

The dialogue might be a little rough in this one, I think it's alright but I only spent a day refining it and I might have missed some important things. I don't mean, spent a full day, with writing sometimes putting it aside and re-reading it brings any flaws to light, but that only works if enou...

My approach to writing these comics has been to have a focus, something the page needs to accomplish. Then, sketch a series of images which will lead to that focus visually. Then, add dialogue in places where the images wouldn't tell the whole story, if the focus is particularly difficult to draw, the image will be much small...

It's kinda fun going for high contrast in a comic, in the past there's mostly just been lines or full shading, and this has been a lot easier to make.

It was harder than it looks fitting this much plot progression into one page so that I could make a "69" joke. If it doesn't make a lot of sense in places, that's my excuse.

Since there's no color, I needed to find another way to make the image thumbnail stand out as more than just lineart. High contrast black and white sells the idea of a noir style setting and makes it more interesting to look at, and wasn't that much extra work. Pretty good return on time investment.

So, next couple of pages will be in a different art style, again.

Timed perfectly, otherwise the elections I'm working at this month would have delayed the next two pages.

Sorry about the delay, was sorting out some dialogue issues. I'll be focusing more on the plot for a bit, so the pace of the comic's going to slow down some, similar to the Stalwart story arc.
