Motivation - Pages 50 to 54
Sorry, that this is late. I really wanted to finish page 54 but it took way longer than I expected.

2025-04-12 18:52:21 +0000 UTC View PostI made good progress this week until I got stuck on a rather unimportant frame.
Now I'm asking myself: should I follow this up with a page of Jake indulging himself or should I directly continue the story?
I'm just creating away.... And then I get to an image where I just can't get the mood right and I have to do multiple renders and it interrupts my confident workflow and I'm using too many "and".
2025-04-03 08:22:23 +0000 UTC View PostThe good news: I'm recovering. The bad news: I managed to create only 1 page this week.
2025-03-29 11:00:08 +0000 UTC View PostI'm sick for the past few days now and when I looked at my calendar this morning I realized I missed most of Friday and Saturday lying in bed convalescing.
Here's everything I was able to do before I got sick.
2025-03-23 09:00:54 +0000 UTC View PostThe story must go on. A small warning: I'm not happy with the speech bubbles on page 40. If I find a better way to communicate the same, I will re-write it.
2025-03-15 16:12:32 +0000 UTC View PostThis was not a good week for me. I can only describe it as a writer block. I know where I want to go with the story, but I just couldn't find the right imagery and words to get there.
2025-03-08 13:56:31 +0000 UTC View PostI'm trying to separate the experience of time through different styles of imagery. One side is the rigid structure of image after image with a clear time line. On the other there's a confluence of images flowing into each other where it's more about the experience in the moment and less about what actually happened first or l...
2025-03-01 11:07:37 +0000 UTC View PostYou might have read my earlier post this week. I still haven't found a solution for it, but after several hours of trying I decided to move ahead with what I had.
I'm currently torn if I should add speech bubbles to pages 24 to 27. I think the images speak for themselves.
Please let me know if you have a different ...
Same scene setup in all 4 of the images, but depending on how I move my camera for the image the floor doesn't properly render and is just black. It's so annoying and no matter what I try I can't find a solution. I've raised the issue in the official Daz3D forum hoping more intelligent and knowledgable people deem it worth th...
2025-02-20 10:07:51 +0000 UTC View PostThis week this story took a turn...
When I was working on page 18 I suddenly realized that the story I originally envisioned, didn't work as I wanted (mainly due to the topic discussed on page 18, 19 and 21). I hope the way I'm steering the story now is better.
2025-02-15 11:57:27 +0000 UTC View PostI'm quite satisfied with the pages this week. I'm already working on page 15 but I'm struggling with some design choices. Deciding on how that's going to go, that might also affect the last frame from page 14.
2025-02-08 10:17:42 +0000 UTC View PostMy apologies, I forgot to upload this last week. So here it is now: The full comic as PDF for download.
2025-02-01 13:59:43 +0000 UTC View PostHere are the first few pages of the Patreon exclusive visual story "Motivation". I hope you'll like it.
I wanted to create more pages for the first release, but unfortunately Thursday and Friday my work (daytime job) was a lot busier than I would have preferred.
2025-02-01 13:56:42 +0000 UTC View PostThis is Jake. He recently suffered a great loss: his father, and last remaining close relative, died.
Now he has to take care of the, at least on paper, prosperous company he inherited.
Jake is the main protagonist of my next story. This will be a Patreon exclusive.
2025-01-26 21:32:55 +0000 UTC View PostI have the feeling that's it!
Lucas and CJ/Chris certainly have more to experience, but I think we have taken a good look at a pivotal moment in their lives.
If you think more needs to be explored, please let me know what you're missing.
Now? What's next? I already have an idea what's coming. ...
2025-01-25 11:04:49 +0000 UTC View PostOn Monday evening I thought "I want to get to this, but I don't know how to start"....
Well, I found a "start" finally, but not sure yet if it's the right one. I might have to rewrite it or make new renders to fit the tone.
Usually I'm quite confident with the created pages, but I struggle with this scene.
2025-01-18 12:19:13 +0000 UTC View PostI can't wait for end of January when the new Nvidia graphics card line is available for purchase.
By the way next week I hope I can show you another meeting between Chris and Lucas parents.
2025-01-11 14:08:12 +0000 UTC View PostSorry, that I publish this later then usual.
New years celebration through a wrench into my (not so well) laid out plans for the week. Do you have that feeling too sometimes when you're so exhausted and tired that you don't know which day of the week it is?
So I woke up early this morning to get at least a 3rd (up...

2024-12-28 11:00:06 +0000 UTC View PostI'm quite unhappy with what I achieved this week. I wanted to, at least, get the transformation sequence done, but due to some problems with a recent Windows update and other factors I had to work the whole Saturday morning to get at least the first page of the transformation sequence completed.
2024-12-21 14:39:02 +0000 UTC View PostI'm pausing subscriptions over Christmas for a month.
I won't stop creating more content, but I'll be on vacation for roughly a week over Christmas to visit family. Also it's Christmas time.
2024-12-14 17:46:13 +0000 UTC View PostI'm getting back to creating more pages again, but page 193 was an unexpected difficulty. I'm still not happy with what I achieved...
It took ages to render as a full setup and had miserable quality. I then tried to separate it into smaller pieces but that made the lighting look weird...
2024-12-14 13:13:40 +0000 UTC View PostIs it just me that gets a bit weary with the darkness creeping in early in the evening and the constant rain?
I really thought I created more pages over the past week, but alas reality hit me when I gathered what I had this morning.
What a horrible week? End of November is always the busiest week for me at work, but this week topped what I expected. Too much overtime and too many stupid questions and ideas from co-workers. I barely had time for 1 page and I'm ashamed to upload it, but I promised I would upload whatever I created over the week so here it ...
2024-11-30 17:57:15 +0000 UTC View PostDaz3D (which is the software I use to create the rendered images) is so weird sometimes. You have a scene set up, you render one image and it takes 20 minutes. You change the angle of the camera or the way a spotlight highlights an area and suddenly it takes 40 minutes to render. But enough about me complaining, overall it's ...
2024-11-23 10:29:35 +0000 UTC View PostI had to change some small things on page 172 so it's uploaded again.
2024-11-16 11:36:30 +0000 UTC View PostWhile working on these pages I noticed how many files there are in my image folder for these pages. Can you believe I rendered more than 1100 images (sometimes partials) for this comic so far?
2024-11-09 11:00:08 +0000 UTC View PostOctober and November are always the busiest months at my day job, that pays my bills. That means less time for working on comics and I need more time to relax and recuperate. December should be quieter again and I should, hopefully, be able to create more pages per week.
I'm also expecting that we get towards the end of...
2024-11-02 11:19:42 +0000 UTC View PostGood news, bad news?
While I found a little more time to work on renders, that unfortunately didn't translate to more pages. I really love the new setting, but while it's not highly complex in regards to texture sizes and node complexity, it has TONS of lighting (as you can wonderfully see displayed in page 162). The mo...
