Animation Progress!

Hey everyone!  It's been a while..  I've got Naomi's muscles working..  They follow her bones..  I'd show you but right now she looks line one of those muscle anatomy illustrations (except animated).

MoCap Retargeting

Not very exciting...  But here's a look at the retargeting process.  The original MoCap data as you saw in the light blue rig was transferred to this new rig..  A rig that can be resized if need be.. (though it doesn't).  

This rig also derives the central orange ring object..  This makes clean-up easi...

Motion Capture Update

Okay so I just had a Skype call with tech support.  They confirmed that the head connector is dead, but everything else is working fine.  I will re-record the Naomi animation and then just manually animate the head.  Muuuuch better.

He will be sending me another harness so for future anims I will hopefully have ...

I just recorded the motion capture for Naomi's first animation.  Unfortunately, the upper torso, head and legs did not record.  I tried it several times.  The harness they sent me may be defective.  What a pisser!

I think I can work with what I have here, however.  I can manually animat...

Story and illustrations are complete.  Just waiting on my voice actor at this point.  While I am waiting I can resume working on Naomi's first animation!

Quickie Update

The Wayward Gift story text is complete.  I just need two more things:

1. One more illustration

2. The rest of Carly's voice recordings

I had to put one of the endings into a separate HTML file.  The external ending document has no voice clips, but Carly is only barely in that ending anyway.

It's Always Something....

I have run into a problem I never thought I would have as I finish this story..  The story has gotten too big for Flash to handle it!

I am getting weird errors when the story text is this big..  The story does not display.  If I remove a chunk of the story, ANY chunk of the story, the error goes away.

Status Update

Hello everyone!

Here's a little update..  A couple of days ago I had taken the bandages off of my arm.  I had frozen shoulder.  That is reduced mobility that happens when you take someone over 40 years old and immobilize their arm for a week.  This is completely normal and was expected.  I've been stre...

Sorry this is taking so long to finish..  I had gone and dislocated my left shoulder.  I don't even know how I did it.  I just woke up one day and couldn't rotate my left arm without burning pain at certain angles.  I originally thought it was a pulled muscle and it would go away but it never did.

Some good news with my motion capture hardware

We have finally narrowed down where the problem lies with it...  It is the plug located at the hip that plugs into the main hub device.  The hardware is designed to be used this way...
