revealing the crazy, scary sail we had in penang... the experience we had was the consequence of not keep a proper watch. this is not something we are proud of, but have learned from and will never let happen again while we are at sea.
we are very lucky the fishermen didnt push the confrontation past threats and yelling.<...

⛵😲 OUR FIRST SAIL IN A YEAR!!!

Wow!! So we took Sharmila out for a sail and a motor to see how she's doing after being on the hard for so long - and she's flying!! No issues with the sails or with the engine. She is a little quieter when motoring now that we've replaced the engine mounts and aligned the shaft. Only thing is.. We are a bit rusty! I am anywa...

⚓️🔗⚠️ Critical Maintenance: Painting our anchor chain markings!!

Sharmila's chain markings had completely worn off!! Really bad.
When anchoring it is imperative to know how much chain you have let out. 🔗
If you use a scope of 5 to 1 you will usually be safe from dragging your anchor. You can let out more chain if the weather is adverse , to be safe.🌊 Example: If the depth is 10...

We are SHOCKED how comfortable this boat is after the HUGE CHANGES to our cockpit! NEVER AGAIN will we suppress and ignore the feeling of discomfort on a boat - if something is uncomfortable, it's uncomfortable and can be changed in some way!! 👍👍👍
