got the dress working in daz now. daz makes it way more complicated then it needs to be. 

anyway, now its a full rigged dress, and still respects the custom morphing that are going on. so it fits any character in any size

the use is pretty straight forward now too, to use it you need to do the zero pose thing...

normal map baking

i did figure out today how to render out nice clean normal maps. 3ds max isnt really great with baking out normal maps, so i never really looked into it. but since its a must have in daz, i really wanted to know how to get proper normal maps.

contraction-expansion ratio

still trying to figure out how to get good results on a long dress that is tight around the feet. so, daz has this contraction-expansion ratio option which is really great. it kinda works like an elastic feature. so for skirts or very tight lingerie it will work great. i can definitely see the usefulness for it.

ok, so next problem we need to solve. if we have a dress that is tight around the lower part of the figure. how are we going to set that up in daz. the problem with the g8f character is that she starts with her legs wide open. so using the transfer utility is out of the question. also dforce is not going to like this at all w...

dforce frustration

its become way more clear now why people dont use thickness on dforce clothing. if we have a simple single trim going on then that works fine, but as soon as we make it a bit more complicated, dforce simply says "NO" and goes KABOOM

i have been trying all kinds of settings, but nothing works, its always the same result ...

fixing bad result after dforce

this will fix poke throughs, and jagged lines.

keep in mind when raising the smoothing iterations, daz will have to do some calculating to fix things. and the higher the number of the smoothing iteration the longer it will take daz to calculate things

i think i figured it out. the thickness itself looks smooth and there is no weird jagged lines. and the way i set it up now you can even have control over how thick the edge must be with a simple slider. going to do a bit more testing, but i think this is the way to go. this looks really promising  :D

dforce tutorial

this tutorial is for dforce, and works great with characters with bigger boobs so you wont end up with those weird chunky lines.

just testing to see how to work with bigger boobs. the idea is to do the same as we do in marvelous designer so we dont get those weird daz folds around the boobs, and this seem to work pretty nicely

i think i figured it out how to use dforce. this is the bolero straight dress (g8f) but now fully daz compatible. and its actually pretty easy to use. which i wasnt expecting at all.

been testing to see how to work with dforce, and i think im beginning to understand how things work inside DAZ. the hair part i figured out, now i need to figure out how to use dforce on the garments i create. if i can figure that out i can make a lot of people really happy
