One thing I miss about painted cel animation is dry-brush smears.  So I'm going out of my way trying to mimic that digitally. Worth the effort.

Finally, here's a time-lapse of me creating this sequence! Hope this set of posts were informative!

After I'm satisfied with the pencils I do ink and coloring.

I use a brush I customized, giving it a rough texture that's akin to the xeroxed cel look in older animation. I love that look and wanted to replicate it with my animation.

This is the first stage, which is animatic and layouts. Normally studios would take the boards and create an animatic based on it, but I combine layouts and animatic into one because I often go straight to animation from it.

I'm finally starting work on the cartoon! Here's the first look at the animatic. Most of this was figuring out the camera pan.

Wanted to give an update on the "Fuzzy Princess" cartoon. All the voices have been recorded for all the characters! Woo!

My next step is to go through the takes for the last voices and select the best one for animation. Then I will work on creating the animatic/layouts for the animation stage.
