Artistic freedom commission for LeafyAutumn

This piece came out so simple, no complicated background, dynamic pose or anything like that. But sometimes it seems to me that simple art can look really impressive and intense if it can co...

Studies

Eruca post Studies from patreon

I've made a few studies of landscapes before starting work on the piece with the flying island. It was very useful and interesting!

I also participated twice in studies hour on Eregbueue's stream, where we studied footage from films. I was impressed...

After the first sketch, I saved another stage after I refined the pose a little and quickly sketched the background and clothes. It was really and easy for me, but the difference between these stages looks just huge :0

I'll definitely save more initial stages next time, guys

A character for a new artistic freedom commission lives in a fantasy world. I just adore the fantasy theme, and honestly I had so many ideas for the background for this piece! I decided to go with an abandoned castle on a flying island :>
Yeah... I'm painting a pretty big background again :D  (Somebody please stop ...

This time I chose a crazily complicated idea for the background for an artistic freedom commission

So, it's going to be fun, but challenging ;>

Happy New Year, my dears! And let's start this year with a cute snow girl! uwu

The commissioner gave me complete freedom in costume design for the tribal snow witch. I absolutely adore the tribal theme, so I was really happy to work on it! I'm even thinking of creating a my own character from some tribe so that I can d...

There is one more sketch of my girl Carrie (not sure, if I'm going to finish this sketch)
I was trying to make her face look more anime-like. I'm not quite happy with face proportions yet, but I think I'm on the right path :>
What do you guys think though?

I could add a lot more details, fix many small mistakes and make it look more realistic, but, well, the final stages of the work are the most difficult and tedious for me. So let's just say it's done now! :D

Actually, guys, it's getting harder and harder for me to finish illustrations. It seems to me perfectionism used ...

Drawing different materials of the same color is such an interesting task! This shows very well how differently they reflect light
Really love how expressive a one-color outfit may look if it have a good combination of some different materials

Mystical | step-by-step

Eruca post Mystical | step-by-step from patreon

This work process was a little strange. I didn't get to work with the details for a while because I wasn't content with the lighting and overall atmosphere. At the first stages of work it looked pretty ordinary, but I really wanted to give it a mystical look.
Eventually I think these experiments with lighting were worth it...
