One of the other thumbnails I did for the case picture and ended up going with, because the blues make the forest a lot more atmospheri, deeper, but still open. As well the it ties in with the more vibrant blues of Kass and will contrast well with his yellow/oranges and draw the eye to other more *ahem* important parts.

Sometimes when I have trouble figuring out the colours for a picture I'll print out little thumbnails to experiment on. That way I can just let loose.

Not every picture works on a first attempt. I tried just winging it on this picture and was not pleased with where its going. Thank god it's a painting so I can just paint over it. At least I know what goes into a paint in the romantic era :P

I've always had trouble figuring out colour pallets for paintings, so I recently found this handy app generates pleasing pallets randomly. It's very helpful! I put in Kass's colour scheme and hit generate to figure out what would work best for the background colours.
