I've been working on this awhile! Now that it's done, I can enjoy a lovelier space. The primer and paint were the easy part, but the scraping and patching took hours and hours! You wouldn't believe all the wallpaper and cracking layers of paint that were once here!

I found some sand that is full of mica! Mica is a flakey, shiny mineral. I like to think of it as nature's glitter! Like glitter, the sand is very sticky. With the exception of a few still lifes, I haven’t painted food. But why not? There are few other things with such great textures, and I do love a challenge in painting! Here, the Twinkie Weenie Sandwich! The texture of yellow sponge cake, reflectiveness of hotdog, and the smooth pattern of spray cheese!

I only have three chickens, but they can give me as much attitude as 100! I love watching them at play, and I thought that you might enjoy seeing them as they are being put up. Oddly they didn't give me nearly as much trouble as normal. They wanted to show off how well behaved they can be.

There are times that I forget to appreciate the small moments. Like spotting a grasshopper, or enjoying an ice cream cone, or a walk in the park. Anything really. Try to take time to enjoy every moment. Savor it. Let the world impress you with its mysteries and beauty.

I headed out to my version of Magdalene's cave! Sometimes I hear how easy my job is. I just think that there are aspects that aren't considered. Bugs, accessibility, and people are all aspects that can be challenging. I did ultimately run into a hiker. He was very polite considering that I looked like a mad woman!
