Wood burning has a long tradition and a very distinct look. Generally, I’d describe the technique as more like drawing even wispy. Every tutorial or tutorial example I could find for the process showed it in that way, as well. A top free time lapse of completing my painting. The main colors used here are buff white, pink, and gray. Colors I rarely use. I just wanted the challenge of trying my hand with something a bit different.
I patched my shirt. But the art of Sashiko is more than just mending. The intention is to actually appreciate the fabric with this style of stitching. It entails stitches placed in a geometric fashion with the use of a patch to make the fabric stronger.
