Am i the only one who wants Brock to beat Reigns and as Brock celebrates Matt Riddle hops the guard rail kicks him in the head pnly for Kevin Owens to cash in on Brock rather than Roman? This way Reigns has motive to finally turn heel, Owens has a claim that he beat Braun and Brock in sane night and Matt looks like a top star instantly and a ready made feud with Brock should brock return at some point. Or is this too logical for WwE booking as it helps several stars rather than one big star(dog)

In the lead up to Takeover, Kairi Sane gave Aaliyah three insane elbow drops, refusing to pin Aaliyah in the process, before locking her in a sub and staring Bayzler down. She's a babyface. At Takeover, the War Raiders jumped Undisputed and beat the crap out of them. They're babyface (at least so far). Why is the main roster so reticent to give babyfaces any edge?

Promotions like NJPW and Stardom are heavily, HEAVILY faction-based. The divisions between groups like Bullet Club, Los Ingobernables and Chaos in NJPW or Oedo Tai and Queen's Quest in Stardom essentially dictates all the matchups and bookings. It makes things fairly predictable, but organized, and there's some inter-factional stuff that can get interesting. Yet WWE has largely eschewed big factions - why is that, and should they start going down that path, at least at some levels (like NXT)?

Was Kairi Sane v Shayne Bazyler the best NXT title match since . . . i dunno, the horsewomen stuff? I never felt like Asuka ever got to fully show what she could do, even against Bayley; if you watch her stuff against Meiko Satamura it's apparent there was another level there. Ember Moon was sort of a cartoonish character and terrible on the mic. The Iconics didn't have the in-ring skill to put on a takeover level match; Cross had the in-ring but her character stuff always lent some cartoonishness to distract from the match as well. With Kairi, even with the pirate gimmick and Shayne, there's a certain authenticity to it. There's a mix of styles between a high flyer and a grappler, there's a true babyface v heel dynamic, and a multimatch rivalry to add history. I'm shocked they belted Kairi because the Shayna/Toni Storm rematch from the Royal Albert Hall event was ready to be go following Evolution. Are we headed for a Shayna call-up already?

Related: can we agree that whether Meltzer is still a valuable resource for news anymore . . . he's a terrible voice? He stammers and meanders on his podcast; he's mostly monotonous, his match breakdowns are basically a list of moves, and his awkward rambling is directly why he spat out the word vomit that was the Peyton comment. Moreover, ALVAREZ IS TERRIBLE FOR HIM. Bryan has no sources, puts in no work, frequently doesn't watch the matches they talk about, doesn't help lead the conversation, and leaves Dave high and dry. There is obvious synergy between, for example, Joe and Rich, SRS and Pawlowski, Hawkins and McCarron. Each partner adds to the conversation. Bryan is basically there, thats it. Is it fair to say Dave's choice of partner is an incredible lack of self-awareness? How can a professional podcaster (and i believe he charges people for for the radio) be this ignorant?

Lanza's biggest observation from the Royce/Meltz debacle wasn't about the comments themselves but the one week gap between the quote and the reaction, and the near universal condemnation of Meltzer from the locker room as a sign that in 2018, that WWE roster just doesn't have the same connection to Dave as say, 10 years ago or more. Did Alexa Bliss grow up reading the Observer? Or Ronda Rousey? He doesn't break WWE news to anywhere near the degree as before; although certain elements of the wrestling world still clearly has ties to him (Jericho, The Elite, etc) . . . he isn't the pseudo power broker/mover & shaker that he was back in his hey day. From your talks with roster guys, is this true? And as a journalist, would you agree that his place is more of a historian than a journalist today? He seems to have his obvious favorites to the point where you can't call him unbiased, and his open participation in promotional materials seems to have compromised him
