The Retirement of Elustia's Chasm and Moving Forward

Hey everyone. Sorry for being so quiet for the past couple weeks but I had to step back and really think about what I wanted to accomplish with this Patreon and the products I release on here.

I don't want to bore you and I don't want to make excuses but Elustia's Chasm was not a smooth release and I really want to apologize for that. I had huge plans for this scene and yes it was very ambitious. I really did take every precaution I could to ensure that there would be as few bugs as possible but alas I am just one person and despite all that some things definitely caught me by surprise such as the removal of content from the hub that this scene relies on. I know some people's initial experience was less than stellar, leading to a drought of likes and reviews which lead to Elustia's Chasm essentially dead on arrival. Still, I take full responsibility for that.

I put an embarrassing amount of time into this scene, so it is especially hard to say goodbye to this one. The truth is I spent 80% of the development doing trigger work and only 20% animating, which is what I really enjoy about VAM. There are also other limitations I put on myself to make sure the scene runs across most PCs and on top of all of that, there are performance bottlenecks and bugs inherent in VAM that can make just enjoying the scene a real pain. I did try continuing Elustia's Chasm but without the confidence that I could release an easy to enjoy experience for everyone I decided it wasn't worth the effort.

I'll admit there was a moment I thought about giving up on making content for VAM outside of my own personal enjoyment when I remembered why I started this Patreon in the first place, the true meaning of BonerVision. High fidelity, long form, simple-to-use, 3D VR Smut!

So I have decided to return to making VR videos, I know the ins and outs and I get to spend more time animating and less time worrying about dependencies and performance. I know there is a lot of a really good competition in the 2D space but I am still surprised at the lack of rendered videos, let alone VR videos. I also anticipate a lot of request to make my videos into scenes which I'll keep in the back of my head for now. Perhaps if VAM 2.X ever drops we will see some real improvements in performance.

I know this change won't be for everyone but this Patreon will be better if I focus on content that I actually enjoy rather than make content that relies on complete expertise knowledge in the world of VAM. In order to make it up to those who value VAM as a tool box, I'll try to periodically release assets I create for my scenes to the hub and I'll try to keep them free.

Anyway, enough of the Debbie Downer. I have some really cool updates about my next Video which I'll be releasing soon!
